Supt Eaton had the toes of one of
his feet badly mashed in the turn table
at Atwood Kansas Wednesday He is
now in a Lincoln hospital for repairs
Commencing April 1st the Adams
Express Co at Holdrege will have quar
ters and handle the express business at
that point independent of the railroad
company
Only one section of the extension to
the roundhouse now remains to be
floored This work has been in progress
this week but the brick supply ran
short of enough to complete the job
Conductor A P Bonnot has resigned
from the railroad service effective May
1st when he and family will leave for
Eau Claire Wisconsin where he will go
into the large furniture business of his
father-in-law R R Williams well
known to quite a number of McCook
people MrBonnot is one of the pioneer
railroad men of the McCook division
having served in the capacity of pas
senger t rake man for almost 25
years de will take with him to his
Wisconsin home the well wishes and
regrets of his fellow rail road and many
others Mrs Bonnott has been a no
table factor in McCooks social and
music circles and her departure will be
a distinct loss and regretted bv all

spent forty years as a scout and hnnt
er of bandits and train robbers In this
way he has made about 50000 Among
the distinguished outlaws he has
chased were Jesse James and his broth
er Bob Ford Bill Dalton and Bill
Cook while he was the leader of the
baid that caught Cherokee Bill in 1895
In the Dalton raid in Coffey ville Kas
Jenkins was shot eight times He esti
mates his nag of bad men at about 150
The home which is being built on a
5000 arre farm owned by Jenkins

Mr P McDonnell whose house was
lately destroyed by fire has commenced
the erection of a residence in the central

people of Indianola and vicinity when
they came to learn that Miss Jeanette
Short and Archie McNeill were man and
wife of several weeks standing having
been married about the middle of Feb
ruary without the knowledge of any one
excepting the judge that married them
