Fireman and Mrs F J Zajicek were
called down to Oxford Tuesday night
by news of the death of her uncle Mr
Eckman father of Engineer John Eck
man The deceased was knocked down
and run over Tuesday afternoon by
passenger train No 16 which was being
switched in the Oxford yard and died
of his injuries Mr Eckman was for
many years section foreman at Oxford
but for the past year has been employed
in the Oxford yard He was 53 years of
age

C S Bricker who has been general
piece work inspector of the Burlington
west of the Missouri river for three
years has been promoted to be master
mechanic of the Sheridan machine shops
Mr Bricker was employed on the C B
Q before he was assigned to work
here He succeeded Superintendent W
F Ackerman of the Havelock shops
when the latter was promoted to his
present position F J Cramer who
steps out of the Sheridan job has been
assigned to other duties
December 1 the position of assistant
superintendent of motive power was
abolished E W Fitt of this city held
the place Mr Fitt has been named as
master mechanic of the Alliance and
Sterling divisions E W Fitt was for
merly chief draftsman in the office of
the motive power department and when
it was removed from Plattsmouth to
Lincoln he became a resident of this

office Omaha has been added to the
force in the time keeping department
here making four men now on the rolls
