day sixty of them weighpd on an aver
age 303 pounds each There were
nine cars of stock shipped Monday
Redfeldt Bros shipped cattle other

Walters T L Jones qf Hendley had
two cars of stock bought but could not
get cars till Wednesday
The R F D carrier out of Lebanon
was asked a few days ago to write a
money order for a patron and wait till
the patron paid him He said his
Uncle Sam was not acquainted with
the patron and so he could not do it so
he was told to ask a merchant in Leb
anon to furnish the dollar and wait until
he got the money this also met with re
fusal

B B Duckworth a miller of several
years experience says the flour made at
the Bartley mill is the best he ever used
Alec Wheeler and James Finnegan
are repairing the house and putting up a
nice fence around the Dr Brown farm
this week
Mrs Bert Stevens has been at her
parents home in Bartley several days
seriously sick She in now improving
and it is hoped she will soon be well
again
Mr Blair from the eastern part of the
state is in our city this week He has
several farms in this vicinity and is
thinking of going into business in
Bartley
Mrs Olmsteads new residence is be
ing rapidly pushed to completion Mr
Trainer is the contractor who will in
sure a good job When finished it will
be one of the best houses in Bartley
Ernest Shumaker has opened up a
first class meat market in Bartley this
week Ernest has been a resident here
for several years and is a gentleman and
good business man fully competent to
conduct a good market which will be
appreciated by our citizens

subscribers to insure the extension of
the Bartley Mutual Telephone to Mc

Lewis Leist and was coming to town but
the wind changed and took it southeast
It burned all of Mr Bakers and Silas
Doolys hay and all around Mr Baker
house Fire started from an old stack
that had been burned a week ago
