was entertained on Friday evening last at the home of Mr and Mrs H C Bur ton by their daughter Miss Etta They report a pleasant time Evangelist A L Ogdenwho had been holding a series of meetings in the Christian church since April 27thcloeed the meetings last Friday night with twenty six additions to the membership of the church Mr Ogden is well versed in the scriptures and presented the gos pel with force eloquence and conviction He wont from here to Alma Nebraska During his stay hero he made many warm friends who will be pleased to have him visit us again Pastor C F Martin had a busy day last Sunday He came from Indianola on 12 attended Bible class at 10 teach- mg the young peoples class preached an excellent sermon to a large congrega tion and immediately went to the river where he baptized eleven persons In the afternoon he organized a YPSCE and in the evening preached the bacca laureate sermon to the graduating class of our high school returning home at the conclusion of the service The senior class of the Bartley high school had its graduating exercises on Thursday evening of this week The program was well rendered All availa ble space in the Methodist church was tilled
