Duffey and Louis O Stone were cele
brated Wednesday evening at the home
of the brides parents north of the city
The appointments were all pretty and
attractive and in keeping with so happy
an event A company of fifty of the
relatives and friends of the principals
were present Among those from Gales
burg were the following Mrs Laura
Stone the grooms mother and Miss
Georgia Stone and Mrs George Mess
play his sister R C Rice his half
brother and wife and Mrs Robert

1 The parlors were handsomely deco
rated with ferns palms and cut flowers
The most conspicuous feature of the
adornment vas a bank of palms and ferns
The wedding march was played by
Miss Blanche Duffey a sister of the
bride and S M and L M Duffey her
uncles Miss Duffey presided at the
organ and the Messrs Duffey played
violins The bride and groom entered
accompanied by Miss Kathrine Duffey
sister of the bride as bridesmaid and
Mr Highby as groomsman The bride
was charmingly attired in white and
made a sweet and womanly appearance
The bridesmaid wore pink The ring
ceremony was impressively performed
by Rev T W McVety of whose church
the bride is a member
After the congratulations the com
pany repaired to the lawn where the
tables were spread and there enjoyed a
rich wedding supper In the service
Miss Mary Tey Estella Cratty and
Messrs Maxwell and Nelson assisted
Mr and Mrs Stone received a num
ber of beautiful and useful presents in
silver glassware linen and other ser
viceable lines
Both bride and groom have many
friends here Both are graduates from
the High school of the class of 1900
Since that time the bride has been suc
cessfully teaching school The groom
is an employe of the tube works at
Kewanee and is an industrious active
young man Mr and Mrs Stone are
spending the day visiting friends in this
vicinity They will leave Friday for
Kewanee where the groom has a home
all in readiness and in which they will
begin housekeeping at once
Miss Duffey will be remembered by
many in this neighborhood as her child
hood days were spent here She is a
granddaughter of Mr and Mrs R M
