The meeting and Sunday-school are kept up at the church , notwithstanding high snow drifts. Mrs. Jacob Longnecker and Wm. Meyers expect to give ( heir respective classes an Easter supper at the home of Mr. Myers on next Saturday night. Owens Longnecker has been rather unfor tunate. Some weeks ago , Johnny Harrison , his horse , Owens and his wheel figured in a mix-up which caused Owens to carry a "bi cycle face" for some days. Now it is a snow- sunburn which passes description in point of color and size. IN MEMOKIAM. When Mr. Stansberry left us , a few months ago , his peaceful leaving seemed a fitting close to a long and blameless life , giving an ex ample of a Christian's triumph over trials borne and difficulties overcome , so we cou'd truly fftel , "There is no Death , what seems so is transition , "but when his devoted daughter - ter , Mis. E. A. Sexson , so soon followed her father , the manner and sadness of her passing ; ing was stunning and hard to realize and be reconciled. Mrs. Sexson was an earnest Christian ; she was a superior woman , edu cated and refined.she % vas capable ol taking a prominent part in the world's work , but back wardness kept her from it. Very reserved.she failed to reveal the pureness of heart , high : purpose , the depth and nobility of character which was shown only to those who knew and loved her best. She was a friend .and lover of young people , a kind neighbor , a large-hearted grandmother , but the little ones can no longer see grandma watching for them ; a true mother , a devoted wife. She is released from suffering is at rest and the peaceful face as it lay in the flower-covered : asket is a beautiful remembrance to those who saw , for they knew that , "He giveth His beloved sleep. > > I > lvlnfr in Tents. There are families and remnants ol families in Galveston , proud people , : ind once well-to-do , who lost their homes , their furniture , everything in the storm , and by necessity live in tents. She was converted when about eighteen years of age and joined the M. E. church of which she has been a faithful member up to the time of her death. She was married to E. A. Sexson , Oc tober 31,1877. On March 24 , igoi.she died a Lincoln , where she had gone for medica treatment and to undergo a surgical operation from which she never rallied. The saddest part of all was that her husband was not pres ent with her at the time of her death. This was due to the fact that he did not receive word in time to be present when the operation was performed. The remains were brought to Indianola and the funeral services held at M. E. church on Wednesday , March 27 , con ducted by Rev. C. A. Norlin , Rev. J. C. Calhoun - houn of the Congregational church assisting. The beautiful floral tributes represented , in a measure , the esteem in which Mrs. Sexson was held by her friends and neighbors. Mr. Sexson and family have the sympathy of a large number of friends in this their hour of bereavement. NORTH COLEMAN. The reported sick ones are well again but J. D. Osborn is pretty sick with kidney trouble. The ground is soatced with water ; snow , slush and mud are abundant ; foggy and damp weather , also ; and farming at a standstill.
