few days past.
Clyde Goldtrap has returned home from

L. A. Fitch has quit working for J. W. Burt-
less and will leave , in a few days , for his
home in Oklahoma.
Mabel Goldtrap left , Saturday night , for
Pueblo , Colorado , where she goes to visit her
brother , John Goldtrap.
Abram Myers of Frontier county and fam
ily were visitors in this vicinity , Sunday , the
guests of Mrs. C. H. Jacobs.
W. G. Dutton has returned home from a
combined business and pleasure trip in East
ern Nebraska and Westem Iowa.
The Republican club held its regular meet
ing , last Friday night. A number of new
names were added to the already large list of
members. W. R. Starr addressed the audi
ence. W. S. Morlan will speak tonight.
Robbed , the Grave.
A startling incident is narrated by John
Oliver of Philadelphia , as follows : " 1 was in
an awful condition. My skin was almost
yellow , eyes sunken , tongue coated , pain con

veek.
A. K. Kinne of near Lebanon has moved to
South Carolina.
Mrs. J. W. Dolan and daughter were Mc
Cook visitors , last baturday.
Mayor and Mrs. William McCallum went in
o Omaha , Tuesday , to enjoy the festal week.
B. B. Duckworth was a business visitor to
the town of the red stand-pipe , Wednesday
night.
James McCallum was a visitor of the county
seat , over night Tuesday , returning home on
Wednesday morning.
Next to Matk Ilanna , Colonel Phillips , the
redoubtable Pharisee of the Sun , doubtless
regards Colonel Kimmell as the "worst thing
ever. "
D. O. Teel' was in McCook , Tuesday night ,
on his way to Superior , where he went on
Wednesday to join the Superior base-ball
club to finish out the season.
Indianola will send a large delegation-
some place the number at over 200 to Mc
Cook , Monday , to hear Colonel 'Roosevelt
and to participate in the great Republican
rally of that day.
The emergency bags sent by a church soci
ety to Kansas soldiers in the Philippines con
tained among the necessities a box of De-

The amount of stalks Don Thompson is
buying would indicate that he is going into
the stock business extensively.
It Happened in a Drug Store.

office of treasurer of our district school board ,
which was made vacant by the removal of
Frank Green from the district.
