While a heav } ' freight train of 90 cars was coming from Everson to Watt two cars were swung around a curve and jumped the track , going over an embankment and alighting at the edge of a trestle at Pennsville The cars had the patent couplers and the balance of the train went on without any inter ruption except a severe jolt , the couplers catching up and connecting the sections of the train perfectly The two cars were not known to be lost till the train got to Watt , where the conductor noticed the loss. Liter the cars were found at Pennsville. " The Burlington is using its dynamo meter car on the main line in Eastern Illinois and Western Iowa The purpose is to determine several matters : What the company's new engines can do how many pounds ol coal a-e used per horse power per hour and how many pounds of water are evaporated per pounds of coal used Tl e basis of comparison is the relative economy of locomotives in the pounds of coal per horse power per hour. The car is ued to determine speed , weight of train and character of road with respect to road-bed and grades. It has been deteimined that with trains up to and including ten cars , the class "H" engine with " 68" drivers is the most economical , but that with trains over ten cars in size , a class "H" with " 62" drivers is more serviceable.
