ill I Comparing the sizes of toilet soaps with Ivory Soap , the Ivory Soap should cost four times as much as the toilet soaps. It is exactly the reverse , and-when you buy Ivory Soap you pay about one-fourth as much for it. The best people use Ivory Soap for their toilet and bath ; because of its purity , the effect upon the skin is beneficial. 1 IVORY SOAP 99lKx , PER CEiNT. PURE. . CHICAGO " Church and P.cadc Sts. , NEW YORK RIDE i MONARCH AND KEEP IN FRONT Beware of the Doctors' ' There is not the slightest doubt that the doctors do more harm than good in treating Contagious Blood Poison ; many victims of Patchwork You Can this loathsome disease would be much better ; off to-day if they had never allowed them selves to be dosed on mercury and potash , the Cure Yourself at Home only remedies which the doctors ever give for , blood poison. The doctors are wholly unable to get rid of this vile poison , and only attempt to heal up the outward appearance of the disease the sores and eruptions. This they do by driving the poison into the system , and endeavor to keen it shut in with their constant doses of potash and mercury. The mouth and throat and other delicate parts then break out into sores , and the fight is continued indefinitely , the drugs doing thesystem more damage than the disease itself. Mr. H. L. Myers , 100 Mulberry St. , Newark , N. J. , says : 'I had spent a hundred dollars with the doctors , when I realized that they could do me no prood. I had large spots all over my bcdy , and these soon broke out into running sores , and I endured all the suffering which this vile disease pro duces. I decided to try S. S. S. as a last resort , and was soon greatly improved. 1 followed closely your 'Direc tions for Self-Treatment/ the large splotches on my chest began to grow paler and smaller , and before long disappeared entirely. I was soon cured perfectly and my skin has been as clear as glass ever since. I cured my self at home , after the doctors had failed completely. " It is valuable time thrown away to expect the doctors to cure Contagious Blood Poison , for the disease is be yond their skill. Swifts Specific S. S. S. FOR THE BLOOD acts in an entirely different way from potash and mercury it forces the poison out of the system and gets rid of it entirely. Hence it cures the disease , while other remedies only shut the poison in where it lurks forever , -constantly undermining the constitution. With gratitude and appreciation we extend our sincere thanks to the editor of TH TRIBUNE for giving us space in his paper , to help further and promote the welfare of the temperance cause. Below we present a few of the many facts that should encourage our workers and enlighten those who are yet asleep to the great good that prohibition is pro mulgating. Over a thousand pledges against drink and gambling have been taken at the Manchester ( England ) Central hall Sat urday-night concerts during the past season. Forty-five counties in prohibition Kan sas possessing poor houses and farms are without a single pauper , and in seven counties there were no criminals for trial in the district court. Reading "In His Steps" has resulted in the formation of the Sheldon Broth erhood at King's Cross , England. One of their duties is to aquaint themselves with every aspect of the drink question and to oppose the traffic in every possi ble way. * * If the resolutions that are being passed by the great assemblies regarding the canteen system and President McKinley's responsibil ity theiefor will be followed very substan tially , that gentleman will hear something drop in 1900. It remains to be seen from these results whether the forces of evil are stronger than those for good. * * An up-to-date temperance lecture by Rev. John Duke McFaden of Carleton , Nebraska , "A saloon keeper advertises for able-bodied men to unload schooners. " This lecture shows what men unload in unloading schoon ers. * * The members of St. Monica's Holy Trinity society for the suppression of intemperance have petitioned Mayor Harrison of Chicago , asking him to have removed from saloons all so-called "ladies' " " - entrance" and "family en trance" signs. They state that they have "grave and serious reasons for making the appeal" as the signs are not only a reflection upon women and the family , but act as a snare to innocent persons. * * Our national president received a pressing invitation from the mayor of Fargo , N. D. , for the delegates and visitors to the Seattle convention to stop over Sunday in that flour ishing city. "We will show you , " he said , ' 'a growing town where not a drop of intoxicat ing liquor can be found. " May we behold the glory of still other cities such as the above. Tribune Clubbing : List. About one month ago my child , which is fifteen months old , had an attack of diarrhoea accompanied by vomiting. I gave it such remedies as are usually given in such cases , but as nothing.gave relief , we sent for a physician and it was under his care for a week. At this time the child had been sick for about ten days and was having about twentyfive operations of the bowels every twelve hours , and we were convinced that un- les it soon obtained relief it would not live. Chamberlain's Colic , Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy was recommended , and I decided to try it. I soon noticed a change for the better ; by its continued use a complete cure was brought about and it is now perfectly healthy. C. L. Boggs. Stumptown , Gilmer Co. , W. Va.
