Commissioners' Proceedings.
McCook , Nel . , February 27,1899.
Board of county commissioners met pursu
ant to adjournment. Present , James A.Kohin-
son , Henry Crabtree and Stephen Holiescom
missioners , and R. A. Green , county clerk.
Minutes of previous meeting read and ap
proved.
On motion county treasurer was instructed
to divide all moneys "left in East Valley and
Indianola precinct bonds" among the school
districts comprising said territory in proportion
tion to the valuation of said districts.
The following resolutions were on motion
adopted :
Resolved , That the county treasurer be in
structed to transfer the interest fund and
bank interest fund to the county general fund
at least once every six months , and that the
transfers heretofore made be approved.
Resolved , That the action of the county
treasurer in purchasing the Indianola precinct
bonds numbered 1,2,3,4 and 5 be approved.
Resolved , That the county treasurer be in
structed to receive the personal tax of S. A.
Moore for the years 1894 and 1895 at the face
of said tax , for the reason that said tax was
levied and taxed in the wrong name.
Resignation of W.C.Shockley , justice of the
peace tor Beaver precinct , read and on motion
accepted , and James H.Kverist was appointed
to fill vacancy.
On motion Andrew Barber was appointed
county surveyor to fill vacancy.
The following official bonds were examined
and on motion approved :
\VJ Porter , overseer road district No. 8.
R.K.Goreley , overseer road district No. 23.
M.Fosscn , overseer road district No. 33.
The following annual settlement of road
overseer examined and on motion approved ,
and clerk ordered to issue certificate on road
district in payment thereof as follows towit :
John M. Ford , overseer district No. 14 , cer
tificate No. 143 , § 17 66.
Petition of Henry Green and others asking
for a public road read and considered ; the
board finds that all owners of land along line
of proposed road have given consent in writ
ing thereto , and on motion same was granted ,
establishing a public road as follows : Com
mencing at the northeast corner of section 29 ,
township 2 , range 30 , th'ence running west to
the northwest corner of the northeast quarter
of said section.thence south on the half-section
line to the southwest corner of the southeast
quarter of said section ; and that , that part of
the road numbered 146 extending along the
section line between sections 28 and 29 in said
township be vacated.
Petition of T. E. McDonald and others ask
ing for a public road read and considered ; the
board finds that all owners of land along the
line of proposed road have given consent in
writing thereto , and on motion same was
granted , establishing a public road as follows :
Commencing at the northeast corner of section
20 , township i , range 27 , thence south on sec
tion line to the state line between Nebraska
and Kansas.
The following claims were audited and al
lowed and on motion clerk was instructed to
draw warrants on the county general fund ,
levy of 1898 , in payment thereof , as follows to-

overseer district No. 27 , to fill vacancy.
The following resolution was on motion
adopted :
Resolved , That the county treasurer be in
structed to accept the tender made by the B.
& M. R. R. R. in full payment of its personal
tax for the year 1898.
It appearing to the board that the personal
property of bainuel Ball was assessed twice
tor the year 1890 , and the said Samuel Ball
having paid the tax in Box Elder precinct for
said year , the treasurer was instructed to
strike off the tax in Red Willow precinct for
said year because of double assessment.
In the matter of the county printing for the
ensuing yeai , the board on motion accepted
the bid of THE McCooK TRIBUNF , which bid
is as follows : Delinquent tax list , 25 per cent
of legal rate. Legal notices , 10 per cent of
legal rate. Commissioners' proceedings , 10
percent of legal rate.

ful performance of contract on award of
county printing examined and on motion ap
proved.
It appearing to the board from the petition
of W. A. McCool and others , and upon exam
ination the board finds that the public good
requires it , on motion the following road is
established : Commencing at the northeast
corner of section thirteen , in township four ,
range twenty-eight , thence west on the section
line to the northwest corner of section four
teen in said town , and range and terminating
thereat , and clerk directed to notify overseers
of highways to open said road and also notify
owners of land along said road to file claims
for damages caused by the location of said
road on or before noon of the 6th day of May ,
1899 , or no further reference will be made
thereto.
It appearing to the board from the petition
of Frank Dudek and others , and upon exam
ination the board finds that the public good
requires it , on motion the following road is
established : Commencing at the northeast
corner of section seventeen , township two ,
range twenty-eight , thence south one mile on
section line to the southeast corner of said
section and terminating thereat , and.clerk
directed to notify overseers of highways to
open said road and also notify owners of lane !
along saiii road to file claims for damages
caused by the location of said road on or be
fore noon of the 6th day of May , 1899 , or no
further reference will be made thereto.
It appearing to the board from the petition
of A. N. Puckctt and others , and upon exam
ination the board finds that the public good
requires it , on motion the following road is es
tablished : Commencing at the southeast cor
ner of section fourteen , township four , range
twenty-seven , thence west on section line to
the southwest corner of section seventeen ,
said town , and range , and terminating thereat ,
and clerk directed to notify overseers of Inch-
ways to open said road , and also notify own
ers of land along said road to file claims for
damages caused by the location of said road
on or before noon of the 6lh day of May ,
1899 , or no further reference will be made
thereto.
The following annual settlement of road

and clerk ordered to draw certificate on road
district in payment thereof as follows , to-wit :

The following claims were audited and on
motion allowed , and clerk directed to draw
