The Burlington's passenger train from Omaha to St. Joseph , last Thursday night , was held up about two miles north of St. Joseph , by six armed rob bers. They made a water-haul. Mrs. H. Thrailkill arrived from Iowa , last Sunday night on 3. Edith Colernan accompaning her from Omaha. Mr. Thrailkill is here from California , for which state they will shortly depart. Mrs. A. D. Miller and little gtrl re turned home , Monday morning , from Omaha , where the little girl was oper ated upon a number of times for an in jury received some months ago in a run away. A number of pieces of broken bone were taken from the ugly wound on the face below the right eye , and it is hoped in due time that the little one will be entirely well of the terrible in jury that threatened her very life. The Burlington will put on the Deadwood - wood line , sometime this month , four of the largest locomotives in the world. They were built by the locomotive works of Pittsburg , Pa. , and will have a capac ity sufficiently powerful to pull a full size freight train over the heavy grades of the Deadwood line. At the present time six or eight loaded ears are all that the heaviest engines now in use can pull. The following table will give an idea of the size : Firebox , inside width , 3 ft. 4 in. ; firebox , outside length , 9 ft. 6 in. ; number of 2-inch boiler tubes , 292 ; length of tubes , 14 ft. 6j in. ; total heat ing surface , 2,675 square ft. ; steam pres sure , 180 pounds ; diameter of cylinder , 22 in. ; length of piston stroke , 26 in. ; di ameter of drivers. 52 in. ; total weight of engine , 269,200 pounds ; total length of engine , 62 ft. 7 in. ; total height to top ot saud box , 15 ft.
