Mrs. E. May Starbuck expects to move

B. A. Lincoln is no mean expoiient of
the principles of his party , and you can
hear every word he says.
Chesterfield says chivalry is next to
poetry , but I suppose if a person is not
born chivalrous he cannot be made so.
If you want to see the whole family in
a commotion just get home late Saturday
afternoon with one copy of The Trib
une. They all want it at the same time.
Frank Everist was in Colorado , last
I week , and of course was looking around
to see how the people were going to vote.
He told us that lie found five ladies who
were in favor of McKinley and three of
them were voters lie said it was aston
ishing to think what a good race Mc
Kinley was running in Colorado. We
think so too.
We hear some amusing things about
the political speakers. Two little ' boys
were playing in the yard. One of them
straightened up and said , Willie , do you
know Mr. Ananias ? No , why ? Oh , be
cause his brother was down to the school
house , last night. How do you know ?
Why when pa came home he said that
the fellow who made the speech was an
own brother to Ananias.

COLEMAN.
H. K. Bixler has sown a lot of rye.
Thos. Real is putting out a large field
of rye.
Frank Coleman took a load of hay to
McCook , Monday.
S. D. McClain was u visitor at the
county fair , last Friday.
H.B. Wales has fifty acres of fall wheat
that is looking very fine.
Wilber McClain finished husking corn ,
Monday. He had 400 bushels.
Win. Sharp bought a drove of hogs ,
and brought them home , last week.
Hanky and Short Smith took atrip up
into Hayes county , last Friday week.
S. Johns and wife , from near McCook ,

Wilber McClain and Fred Traphagan
left Wednesday to drive through to Iowa.
I. B. Stryker had the misfortune to
break his wagon tongue , Tuesday night.
James Kelly has been hauling off
wheat. He threshed out about 450
bushels.
W. C. Downer of DeKalb county , Illi-
inois , stayed with S. D. McClain , Thurs
day night.
I. B. Stryker was in the southern part
of this town , Wednesday , looking after
road work.
Dr. Harlan made a rattling Republican
speech ' at the Coleman school house ,
Tuesday night. '
Rev. D. S. Morris preached a most excellent -
cellent , sermon at the Coleman school
house , last Sunday-
Harry Wales has a lame arm , caused
by husking corn. He has two teams and
three ' hands i'n the cornfield.
Some one drove past our house , Monday -
day ( morning , by lantern light. Don't
,
know whether he got the worm or not.
The school in district 74 , under the ef
ficient I management of Miss Anna Irwin ,
is i moving along smoothly and rapidly.
Harry Wales went over to Driftwood ,
Saturday , and visited with his sister
Hattie until Sunday afternoon when he
returned home.
H. K. Bixler had the misfortune to
break 1 the large roller to his cane mill ,
Friday J a week , which will delay operations -
tions for a week at least
S. D. McClain went to Mr. Droll's to
get a girl to work a few weeks , but failed
in his mission as the girls were going to.
North Platte to the great show.
A singing school is being organizea at
the Coleman school house. It is a grand
good thing for the young people to learn
to sing , and here is a good opportunity.
A young man up here , 5 ft. , 6 inches
tall , goes humming around : If ever I
should marry it won't be for love nor
riches , but 111 marry a girl full six feet
high so she can't wear the pants.
Uncle Billy had twenty acres of sod
corn planted late. It makes splendid 1
,
fodder. The first three days of last week -
he cut fifteen acres ; and now has all of
it cut. He is fixing for a hard long ]
winter.
On last Friday forenoon the teacher in
district . 58 was sent for to keep house f
for her uncle , Trainmaster Kenyon , J
while the family spend a few days in
Denver. While she takes care of Mr. ,
Kenyon's home in McCook , Miss Goheen *
occupies her place in the school room.
Farington Power of McCook made a
Pop talk at the Coleman school house ,
one night recently. It was a rousingly
remarkable production , viewed from
either a Pop or Republican standpoint.
His idea was to get the free silver in cir
culation by paying the old soldiers pension - -
sion : for two years in advance. Probably
they would not kick very hard at that. _
Auntie Coleman drove the black pony
to ( McCook , Thursday , with the cart. * On
arriving at home she stepped from the a
art and barely touched the ground when a
the pony quickly sprang forward and =
struck out through the orchard at a
break-neck gait , scattering things in
svery direction. After making four trips f
icross the orchard she got loose from
the cart and jumped into the garden
where Auntie caught her. , The damage
ivas slight.
In the quiet calm of last Sabbath even
ing , when all nature seemed loded with c
hallowed influence , and worshipers °
cl
kvere quietly gathering at the Coleman f
school house to take part in the Young -
Peoples' meeting , three boys came rid" 1
ing from the south with their horses on I
dead run , and at every few jumps of
the horses , the atmosphere was rent with
piercing yell , "Hurrah for Bryan" . On
irriving at the hitching posts near the
school house they talked loudly , raising
many oaths. After talking some twenty
3r thirty minutes they rode away. Boys ,
ome to meeting ; we want you to come ,
but don't come that way again. If the e
meeting is disturbed there will be no s
lesitancy in making arrests. The boys
eferred to above do not live in the im-
nediate vicinitv , but they are known.

To Subscribers of The Tribune.
Readers of The Tribune will please
remember that cash is an essential 'in
the publication of a paper. The pub
lisher has been very lenieht during the
past few years , on account of crop fail
ures and hard times , and as a consequence
quence many hundreds of dollars are
due on subscriptions. We are now com
pelled to request all who can to call and
make settlement in full or. in part. In
view of the facts , our subscribers must
feel the justice and urgency of this re
quest. The Publisher.
A few weeks ago the editor was taken with
a very severe cold that caused him to be in a
most miserable condition. It was undoubtedly
a bad case of la grippe and recognizing it as
dangerous he took immediate steps to bring
about a speedy cure. From the advertisement
of ' Chamberlain's Cough Remedy and the
many good recommendations included there
in , we concluded to make a first trial of the
medicine. To say that it was satisfactory in
its results , is putting it very mildly , indeed. It
acted like magic and the result was a speedy
and permanent cure. We have no hesitancy
in recommending this excellent Cough Reme
dy to anyone afflicted with a cough or cold in
any form. The Banner of Liberty , Liberty-
town , Maryland. The 25 and 50 cent sizes tor

Those who believe chronic diarrhoea to be
incurable i should read what Mr. P.E. Grisham ,
of ' Gaars Mills , La. , has to say on the subject ,
viz : "I have been a sufferer from chronic diar
rhoea , ever since the war and have tried all
kinds ' of medicine for it. At last I found a
remedy 1 that effected a cure and that was
Chamberlain's Colic , Cholera and Diarrhoea
Remedy" . This medicine can always be depended -
pended 1 upon for colic , cholera morbusdysen-
tery ' and diarrhoea. It is pleasant to take and
never 1 fails to effect a cure. 25 and 50 cent
