For information regarding rates , etc , call on or address C. E. Magner , Agent. The pay car did its work , Wednesday evening. Mrs. William Francisco is entertain ing her sister. A son was born to Conductor and Mrs. T. M. Mundy , Tuesday morning. Assist. Supt. C. H. Harman was down at western division headquarters on bus iness. Saturday last. Mrs. C. A. Dixon and Miss Edna went up to Denver , Wednesday night , to be absent until September. Mrs. Oscar Yarger went down to Or leans on Sunday morning , where her husband is now located. Mrs. Tony lark and son Jack of Red Cloud are visiting in the city , the guest of her sister , Mrs. V. H. Solliday. Mrs. A. Campbell and Miss Maggie Vaughn arrived home on 4 , Tuesday ev ening , from a short visit to Denver. Mrs. P. F. McKenna and little daugh ter Clara visited in Hastings , close of last week , the guest of her aunt , Mrs. J. Feeny. Roadmaster Sam Rogers was unfortu nate in falling , last Friday evening , bad ly dislocating the thumb of his left hand. In falling he threw out his hand to save himself , with the result above stated. Arthur Douglass was down from Den ver , yesterday , visiting his many friends. He was on his way to Lincoln , to meet his grandmother , Mrs. E. L. Pettingill , who was to accompany him to Denver , but a long-delayed telegram announced her death in Sheridan , Wyoming , Mon day. To California in a Tourist Sleeper. The Burlington Route personally con ducted once-a-week excursions to Colorado rado , Utah and California are just the things for people of moderate means. Cheap , respectable , comfortable , expe ditious. They leave Omaha every Thurs day and go through , without change , to San Francisco and Los Angeles. The tourist sleepers in which excursionists travel are carpeted , upholstered in ratan and have spring seats , spring backs , mattresses , blankets ; curtains , pillows , etc. Only $5 for a double berth , wide enough and big enough for two. The route lies through Denver , Colorado Springs , the wonderful canyons and peaks of the Rockies , Salt Lake and Sacramento. All Good Republicans Should make a point of attending the national convention , to be held at St. Louis , Tuesday , June 16th. The expense isnot great if you take the Burlington. Little Jessie , daughter of Conductor and Mrs. C. E. Pope , had the misfor tune to fall from her bicycle , last Satur day evening , and fracture both bones of her left arm below the elbow. It is not known what caused her to fall , and the little girl does not know herself. She had not been well all day , and it is thought that she fainted , fell from from the wheel and was thus injured. Doubly Insured. The recent general conference of the Methodist church in Cleveland adopted a report authorizing the organization by the church of a fire , lightning and tor nado insurance company. Also passed a resolution deprecating the organization of Christian Endeavor societies in the church. Denver , Colorado. Notice to Bicycle Riders. Riders of bicycles will please observe the ordinance against riding on the side walks , and parents should see to it that their children refrain from riding on the sidewalks and rapid coasting within the city limits.
