The rain storm , Tuesday afternoon , over in the McDonald-St. Francis neighborhood , was accompanied by hail which broke many win dow panes and doubtless damaged the crops more or less. Mrs. I. Pew and daughter Ola , T. C. Wicks and bride drove over from the Beaver , Wednesday - nesday afternoon , the newly married couple taking the evening passenger for their future home in Morris , Illinois. The Los Angeles , California , papers con- tain an account of a "little misunderstanding" Leon F. Moss , a former citizen here , and now known as an A. P. A. attorney in Los Angeles - les , had with a Catholic , recently , in the "City of the Angels" , in which Leon was consider- ably used up. The city authorities should put a stop to coasting on bicycles or fast riding within the city limits. That other accidents have not taken place is rather a matter of luck or good fortune than skill or good management. The rights of horsemen are daily interfered with and lives and property jeopardized. The McCarl brothers will dispense ten gal- lens of ice cream to their invited friends at their new restaurant , next Tuesday evening. The boys are now opened up for business in the old Chenery drug store building , and have everything fixed in fine shape , and will doubt- less do a prosperous business. Last evening , Master Frank , the seven-year- old son of Fireman N. Newkirk , while coast- ing down the hill on lower Madison street , on his bicycle , collided with C. T. Brewer's hog wagon and team , and was very seriously in - jured. His jaw was broken in two places and will prove a troublesome fracture. Besides he was injured about the neck and badly Iy shaken up generally.
