Conrad Krieger , who Bart charge of the
section at Imperial , has moved Here
with his family.
Some of the company's telegraph poles
were blown down near Bartley , last Friday -
day , during the rain and wind storm.
The company's loss on the Cheyenne
branch near Farnant by last Friday's
rain storm is placed as high as $20,000.
C. W. Britt , who has been in the eastern -
ern part of the state at the bedside of a
sick father , arrived borne , Sunday iight.
William Pane carte down front Sheridan -
dan , \Vyonting , Tuesday night , to the
bedside of his aged and sick mother ,
who is now , however , improving after a
serious illness.
Bridge No. i8 between Hendley and
Beaver City was considerably damaged
by the heavy rain , close of last week ,
necessitating sending the pile driver and
bridge gang down from here , to repair
the same.
Pat O'Brien and family of Goolllnnd ,
Kansas , are visiting J. I-I. Bennett and
family. He ryas an oldtime engineer on
the Burlington before the strike ; and is
now running out of Goodlaud on the
Rock Island.
\Villiant Fane , who is in the city on a
brief visit , reports James Ritchie as im-
proving from his recent attack of rheum-
atism. He also states that all the boys
Silo went from the Western division to
the Wyoming division are getting
along famously , some of their having -
ing top passenger rubs ; all of which is
pleasant news to the friends here.
The track east of the narrows , where
the River canyon empties its flood , was
overflowed by the rain of last Friday ,
and the company sent a hand car ahead

of the passenger trains that evening , for
precaution and safety. The neighborhood -
hood at the mouth of Massacre canyon , t
west of Perry , was also badly overflowed.
While the last two rains have softened
up the track somewhat , the main line
has escaped damage and traffic has conW
tinued as usual , although the branches
suffered somewhat.

Two Damage Suits.
The Burlingotn has two damage suit
on hand as a resultof a recent ejectment
of passengers from No. 3.
Amelia Jensen asks $ Sooo.oo , and al-
le ges that she purchased tickets on February -
ruary 7 at Houston , Texas , for Indian-
ola , Nebraska ; that on Feb. 9th , after
leaving Oxford , the conductor took
tickets and after stopping train at
Bartley elected her therefromwith her
five small children ; that she and her
children were obliged to. sleep on the
floor of the depot at Bartley , having
been ejected from the train at midnight ,
and having no money to pay for lodging -
ing , and was obliged to depend ou charity -
ity of strangers for food and ] convey-
a nce. .
Berthena Jensen only asks for $4ooo ,
al leging same as above , except that she
has but one small child.
Their husbands are still in Texas ,
earning money enough to join them
h ere.
Too Good for Credence.
The medical profession will be a little
slow to believe with the Chicago scien-
ti sts that the X ray will speedily and ef-
fe ctively dispose of the germs of diph-
t heria and typhoid and that cholera and
tuberculosis will probably be compelled
to go out of business ti ] ieu treater ] by
the new system in which the Roentgen
ray plays an important part. Physicians
are quoted as risking their professional
reputations upon ( lie coixiplete success of
their experiments , but that will not carry
c onviction. The tale sounds too goad
to be true. Journal.
