For ten years the desk calendar issued
by the Pope Munufacturing Company
has held a unique place among business
helpers. Each daily leaf during that
time has taught its quiet lesson of the
value of better roads and outdoor exercise -
cise , and especially the benefits of bi-
cycling. The calendar for 1895 , which is
just issued , is even brighter than its predecessors -
decessors in appearance , as clever artists
have added dainty silhouette and sketch
to the usual wise and witty contributions
that have heretofore given this popular
' calendar its charm. It can be had for
five 2-cent stamps from the Pope Manufacturing -
facturing Company , Hartford , Conn. , or
i from any Columbia bicycle agency.
McCook now boasts two full-grown
and feathered-out foot ball teams. Did

Interesting and promising revival
meetings are in progress in the South
McCook school house. Rev. Forman
has suspended his meetings in the Methodist -
odist church for a few weeks.
w , M Lewis and J. H. Dwire have
opened a cigar store in the late Lewis
saloon building on sonth Main avenue.
A gentleman from Oberlin and Widow
Henderson of our city were married ,
yesterday , by Rev. A. G. Forman.
Lawyers McNeny and Gilliam have been
employed by the water power millers on the
Republican river from Orleans to Concordia ,
to bring suits to restrain all ditch companies
in Nebraska from diverting the waters of the
Republican and tributary streams for purposes
of irrigation. The suits will be proseeuted bn
the principle of priority of right. Red Cloud
Chief.
Representative Cole expects to introduce
in the legislature , a proposition to amend the
state law to limit the session of county commissioners -
missioners to four terms per annum and a sufficient -
ficient number of days to transact the business
of the counties. A special session to be called
b petition of bona fide taxpayers instead of
at te whim of the county clerks.-Culbertson

DISGUISED CATARRH.
A Stealthy , Insidious , Weakening
Enemy to Women.
There are a multitude of women , especially -
pecially housewives , and all other women
obliged to be on their feet constantly ,
who are wretched beyond description ,
simply because their strength and vitality -
ity is sapped away by catarrhal dis-
clarges from the pelvic organs. These
women get up in the morning tired , drag
themselves through their daily duties
tired , only to go to bed at night as tired
as before.
Pe-ru-na is such a perfect specific for
each case that when patients have once
used it they can never be induced to
quit it until they are permanently cured.
It begins to relieve the disagreeable symptoms -
ptoms at once. The backache ceases ,
the trembling knees are strengthened ,
the appetite restored , digestion made
perfect , the dull headache is stopped ,
and the weakening drains are gradually
cured. These results certainly follow a
course of treatment with Pe-ru-na.
A valuable illustrated pamphlet of 32
pages , fully describing this class of disorders -
orders , including coughs , colds , la grippe
and all other climatic diseases of winter ,
will be sent free to any address by The
Pe-ru-na Drug Manufacturing Company ,
Columbus , Ohio.
A Chance to Make Money.
Ihave been selling dish washers three
weeks , and have cleared $315. Can any
of your readers , without previous experience -
rience beat this ? In this business a woman -
man can make as much as aman. Every
family wants a dish washer when they
can be got so cheap , and they will have
one no matter who it is that is selling it.
I am convinced any one can make from
$5 to $ to a day , in this business , anywhere -
where , city or country. They all want
dish washers. You can get particulars
by addressing the Iron City Dish Washer
Co. , E. E. Pittsburg , Pa. , and by beginning -
ning at once youcan have enough money
by spring to start in most any kind o f
business. I am going to stick right to
this dish washer business until I make
$10,000. MATILDA B.

liant , wierd author of Dr. Jekyll and Mr.
Hyde.
ONLY eight long-haired brutes were
gathered to their fathers during the 1894
foot ball season. The prize ring is a
haven of refuge compared with the "in-
tellectual" game of foot ball as played
by the average gang of university toughs.
