One reason why some men do not have better wives is because they are such poor husbands. More serious sickness is produced by allowing tin! bowels to remain in a tor pid or partially constipated condition than from any other cause. In many instances diseases are produced from which people never wholly recover. Dyspepsia, piles and nervous disorders are three of the most common and most serious. 1 hey are caused by neglect ing the bowels, and can be prevented by an occasional dose of St. Patrick's pills, which always produce a pleasant • cathartic effect, and not only physic, but cleanse the whole system and regu late the liver and bowels. 25 cents per box, for sale by McConnell & Co. There are too many people who never get religion enough to make them look pleasant in church. / Owe it ' To suffering humanity to tell the great benefit my wife has received from Parks’ Sure Cure, the truly great liver and kidney cure. After a large amount of persuasion from my druggist, backed by his guarantee, 1 bought a bottle of Parks’Sure Cure and the results are more than wonderful. YV. P. Bayes, Omaha, Nebraska. For Sore TnROAT.—Saturate a flan nel bandage with Chamberlain's Pain Balm and bind it on the throat. It will cure any ordinary case in one night’s time. W. B. I have sold a number of bottles for rheumatism, and always with good results." 50 cent bottles for sale by McConnell & Co. Things that Thousands Know by Bitter Experience. The second stage of eatarsli is some times called an old cold. A neglected cold has settled in the head, nose, throat, larynx, bronchial tubes, lungs or other organ of the body. If it settles in the head it may produce roaring, cracking in the ears, headache and confusion of the senses; if in the nose a more or less abundant discharge, sneezing, noisy breathing and thickened membranes; if in the throat, hawking, enlarged tonsils, sore throat, follicular pharyngitis—the preachers’ sore throat; if in the larynx, horseness, weakness of voice, aphonia— loss of voice; if in the bronchial tubes, cough, pain in the chest, expectoration and loss of appetite. Unless something is done to put a stop to this state of things the third stage of chronic catarrh is sure to set in, which is not only hard to bear but difficult to cure. Pe-ru-na will cure all cases of catarrh in the second stage if used without interrup tion. Directions for use accompany each bottle, although some cases find it to their advantage to send to Dr. Hartman for his direction fora month’s treatment—sent free. The Pe-ru-na Drug Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio, are send ing free to any address their latest book on catarrh, entitled “Climatic Diseases” —a book well worth reading. Specimen Cases. T. H. Clifford, New Cassell, Wiscon sin, was troubled with neuralgia and rheumatism, his stomach was disorder ed, his liver was affected to an alarm ing degree, appetite fell away, and he was terribly reduced in both health and strength. Three bottles of Electric Bitters cured him. Edward Shepherd, Harrisburg, 111., had a running sore on his leg of eight years’ standing. Used three bottles of Electric Bitters and seven boxes of Bucklin’s Arnica salve, and his leg is sound and well. John Speaker, Cataw ba, Ohio, had five large fever sores on his leg, and the doctors said he was in curable. One box of Bucklin’s Arnica salve and one bottle of Electric Bitters cured him entirely. Sold by McMillen. One reason why there are so many long faced people in some churches is because they hardly ever think it is worth while to praise the Lord except when they feel like it. Good Advice.—The editor of the West Branch, Iowa, Record, gives his readers some good advice: “We have used Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy in our family in cases of sudden colds and sore throat, and find it all that is now claimed for it. One bottle or less, if taken according to directions, will, we believe, effect a cure in any ordinary case and save the expense of large doc tor bills. Especially do we recommend it in families where the children are threatened with croup, as it will afford immediate relief, if taken in time, and this can always be done if the medicine is kept on hand, as we are convinced it should be.” For sale by McConnell. It is about as wise to sit on the limb of a tree and saw it off as to worry about things we can’t help. Distemper Among Horses Safely and quickly cured by the use of Craft’s Distemper and Cough Cure.
