drug store. The State Journal says
of them: “Dan Morris Sullivan—Dub
lin Dan—and Miss Eileen Desmond—
the little emerald—and their company
of artists entertained a packed house,
Tuesday evening, at the opera house.
The neat Irish comedies, “Barney’s
Farewell” and “Widow Machree” were
well presented. Some fine singing and
dancing were introduced which aroused
especial enthusiasm. Miss Eileen Des
mond and Miss Helen Hinze won the
hearty applause of the audience as did
the entire company.”
The following paste will whiten the
hands and arms: Four ounces of strained
honey, two ounces of yellow wax, six
ounces rose water and an ounce of myrrh
Melt the wax, honey and rose water
together in a dish over boiling watter.
When melted and hot add the myrrh.
Stir until smooth. Apply to the skin
belore retiring.
It is now the custom to stamp and ad
dress envelopes on the back. With the
directions written across the folds, the
letter cannot be opened by an unauthor
ized person without the fact being de
tected.
