Some parents hold before their chil
dren a bugbear of some kind to frighten
them into submission. An Indian , bearer
or ghost often serving the purpose as
long as the poor little innocent knows
no better. Just so Indianola attempts
to hoodwink the full grown intelligent
farmer of Red Willow county by hold
ing before him an imaginary bugbear ,
the awful picture of McCook going back
on her pledges and voting to bond th
county for $50,000 , when the following
table will show that the vote of the

is nearly three to one.

A cock and bull story about Edison
is now going the rounds. It is to the
effect that Tom has invented an electri
cal engine of some sort by which a town
can be totally destroyed at a distance of
thirty miles. The tale is that he has
sold his invention to the German govern
ment. Edison can hear of a good cus
tomer for a local right by addressing
either Minneapolis or St. Paul. Jour
nal.
In the contest of Florence McAuliffe
and William J. McMillen , transferee ,
vs. Nathaniel Ralerson , from McCook ,
Secretary Noble , Thursday , decided that
a hearing be had so that there may be
a readjudication of the entire issue.
The state business men's association
is agitating the matter of another ad
vertising train. Nebraska has hardly
gotten through taking care of the influx
of immigrants brought by the other train.
Read McCook's guarantee. It is
business-like , and is certainly entitled
to more consideration than Indianola's
claims and bald assertions.

GENUING BARGAINS !
Has the actual difference in the
way CLOTHING- put up ever oc
curred to you ? If it has not , a visit to
the various places where clothing is
sold will convince you that there is a
vast difference between "slop-shop
hand-me-downs" and clothing ( not
things ) made of good material and
nicely put together. Here is where
we have always made a strong point
and the fact that we are selling Men's and Boys' Suits
and Pants , trimmed , lined and sewed equal to any tailor
made suits , at prices as low , and often lower , than the "slop
shop" stuff explains in itself why we are doing so large a
clothing business. We have put forth an extra effort this
spring , and you will find our tables loaded down with the
prettiest line of MEN'S , BOYS' AND CHILDREN'S SUITS
to be found on this market , and if you are looking for good ,
honest goods at the lowest prices , we ask you to carefully
inspect this department. And in Hats , Shirts , Suspenders , '
Overalls , Jeans , Pants , SOCKS , Ties , Night Shirts , etc. , we
have just what you want and at a price that will meet your
views.
