There will bo a meetiog of the Republican Central Committee held in the court house at Indi- anola , Nebraska , on Monday , June 27th , 1892 , at 1 o'clock , P. M. , for the purpose of deciding upon udato for holding the next Re publican county convention , and such other business as may come before the committee. It is earn estly desired that committeemen be present from every precinct in the county. P. M. EJMMELL , M. N. ESKEY , Secretary. Chairman. GET together ! THE democratic lamb will be se lected for the November slaughtei on or about June 21. THE 7,000,000 republican voters were slightly divided prior to the convention , but next November will reveal the fact that they are an ir resistible unit. THE state election in Oregon leaves no doubt as to where the electoral vote of that state will be found in November. It was a republican victory , clean and de cisive. NEBRASKA'S ever busy senator A. S. Paddock , has introduced a bill providing for the appropriatioi of § 150,000 for the purchase o eighty acres of land and the erect ion of a soldiers , home in Beatrice PARTY lines this year , as in 1888 , will be drawn on the tarif question , and every fair-mindec and well-posted voter must admi that republican changes have been greatly strengthened by the highl } satisfactory working of the Me Kinley law. Two bills have passed the house proviidng for the admission of the territories of New Mexico and Ari zona to statehood. As the meas ures are not likely to meet with op position while taking the regulai course , the American flag will prob ably contain forty-six stars before the close of the present year. < /ro5. L. L. Polk , president of the national farmer's alliance , died at 11:15 Saturday. Col. Polk was of great value to his party as a stump speaker and was an able writer on topics of particular interest to far mers. The people's party will meet in national convention in Omaha , July 4th , and the probability is that had Col. Polk survived ho would have been nominated for president or vice president the party should have decided to put a ticket , in the field. IT is said that Governor Mc- Kiuley was a wholly inexperienced presiding officer before taking the chair at Minneapolis. Although he had been in congress twelve years he had no opportunity to preside over that body , and his friends feared that the task of keeping the convention in order would be too much for even a chair man of the widest experience. Taking these facts into consideration , promptness and tion the justice clearness of all his ruling was re markable. Governor McKinley distinguished himself by his con trol of the unwieldy body , and the knowledge that ho did it without previous preparation will greatly tor increase the rdmiration felt of the republicans him by the nation. THE State Ileunion , G. A. E. , for the year 1802 , will bo held at Grand Island , August 29th to Sep tember 3d inclusive. A rate of one fare for the round trip has been announced from all parts of the State on all railroads. The attendance is expected to be larger than in any previous year. A programme is being arranged with a view to having it particular ly pleasing to all Veterans , Sons and Daughters of Veterans and members of the Womans' Belief Corps. It will embrace some new attractive features not heretofore witnessed at any reunion in Neb raska. Camp accommodations will bo more ample than ever before in everp respect , and the Camp will be located on the same ground it occupied last year. Seating accom modations will be provided at speakers' stand. Full particulars can be had by addressing Seth P. Mobley , Chairman , George H. Caldwell , Secretary , or Harry Harrison risen , Quartermaster. Commun ications concerning booth privile ges should be addressed to S. N. Wolbach. THE agony is over , and Benja min Harrison has been nominated for the presidency of the United States to succeed himself. The friends of Mr. Elaine stuck to him to the last moment but they were not numerous enough to nominate. Harrison received the nomination on the first ballot having nearly one hundred votes to spare. There is no republican in the country but who is satisfied with the nomi nation. Mr. Harrison's adminis tration has challenged the admira tion of the whole world and under it the United States has prospered during the past four years as it has never prospered before. Hur1- rah for Harrison , the president and the next president of the United State. THE point is made by contempo raries as the fact that the sentiment of his party at large favored Harri son's nomination made him invin cible. A like force insures the nomination of Cleveland. There is a difference , however. The feeling that Harrison had fairly earned reuomiuation according to prece dent , and that it would be unfair not to give him a second chance , does not apply to Cleveland's case. Though the rank and file of his party are for him , yet the fact that he has had his two chances and failed in the later one may be used against him with powerful effect by the cooler heads at Chicago. Journal. COLONEL BOB INGERSOLL has a little lawsuit of his own against Rev. Dr. Dixon for libel. The cler gyman has put in a very volumi nous answer to the colonel's peti tion , and the colonel wanted the court to strike out a good deal of it , but the court refused. As it is given out that the colonel has agreed to leave New York and go back to Peoria as a preacher of the gospel , in case the doctor downs him in this suit , the interest of the public in the mill will increase daily until the jury renders its verdict. Journal. WOMEN never did like to tell their ages. In the Old Testament , although great numbers of women are mentioned , there is tut one Snrah , Abraham's wife whose ige is recorded.
