Engine 135 is shopped for general repairs.
Engine 161 is out of the shops in first-class
condition and good as new.
Engineer F. R. Allen has been visiting in
Kansas City , the past week.
Frank Harris and two children leave , Sun
day , for Galva , III. , on a brief visit.
Roadmaster W. W. Jossellyn was up from
Orleans , Sunday , on affairs of railroad mo
ment.
Engineer J. E. Sanborn was at headquarters ,
Sunday. He is now pulling the canon ball
passenger between Red Cloud and Oxford.
Engineer Ed. Kingsbury and wife accom
panied their visiting friends , B. B. Briggs and
wife , to Denver.
Win. H. Craig , carpenter , returned to duty ,
his week , after an extended lay-off , caused
by a broken leg.
Walter Murphy , who has been employed in
the shops for the past year , has quit the ser-
ice and is going to take a trip out west with
. view of getting work.
Mrs. E. J. Highland has been down from
Holyoke , this week , visiting Mrs. W. J. Hills
and Mrs. A. J. Welch previous to their de
parture for Paducah , Kentucky.
Fred Bremer made flying trips to Denver and
'lattsmouth during the past week or ten days ,
; nd we wonder if he is going to be appointed
Master Mechanic somewhere.
Some smart young man from the country
hrew an apple through a window of a coach
t McCook , Wednesday , and at last accounts
was hunting the money to pay damages.
Engine 157 was unfortunate in getting
some of her new points knocked off in the
Holdredge yards , a few days ago , by collision
with engines 16 and 159. Damage , about one
good month's pay.
Engines 1249 and 1250 were set up at Mc
Cook , this week , and sent to Denver to switch
in the yards. They are bran new from
Pittsburg and will considerably increase the
yard service at that point.
Rally in Coleman Precinct ,
There will be a Republican rally in Coleman
precinct , Frame's school house , Thursday
evening , October i6th at 7 o'clock. William
.Weygint and D. E. Brown , members of the al
liance , and other speakers will be present.
And candidates on the people's ticke t will
have the privelege of being heard if they so
desire.
Parry Precinct Caucus.
The electors of Perry precinct are requested
to meet at the Perry school house on Friday ,
Oct. I7th , at 8 o'clock , P. M. , for the purpose of
nominating such precinct officers as are to be
elected at the election of Nov. 4th , 1890.
