of state officers has not materially increased. '
"Where Ignorance is bliss , 'tis folly to be wise. " (
It is given out that President Harrison fa- f
vors Judge Grcsbam as the successor of the <
late Justice Matthews. Such an appointment
would be a fitting recognition of the better
element of tbo republican party. It would be
a selection fit to be made upon the ground of
, qualification , and would be in strict accordt
ance with tho sanctities and proprieties which
f should hedge about the supreme judiciary of l
the nation.
In this dayand age , when anarchy and social- ]
Ism parade their shapeless and shameless i
forms before the publio gaze , the question S
naturally arises as to tho cause of it all. But
when such papers as tho Omaha Bee and " 'tisi

J I 'papers are continually inveighing against the r
law and constantly reiterating that "prohlbi-

l- them ? iaw is law and should bo upheld and
\i \ obeyed whether prohibition of tho liquor traf-

r majonly say that they desire to enact a law n
I' thoy will have it and it is the duty of the mij

our national structure , nothing but ruin and f

used by all who value the advice ( quoted below ) of Ellen H. Richards ,
Instructor in Chemistry , Woman's Laboratory , Massachusetts In

"safest to choose the make of some well known and long established
"firm who have a reputation to lose if their product is not good. "
A WORD OF WARNING.
There are many white soaps , each represented to be "just ss gcod as the ' Ivory' ; "
they ARE NOT , but like all counterfeits , lack the peculiar and remarkable qualities of
