A New Loan and Banking Company.

Mr. Charles E. Shaw , formerly of the firm
of Shaw & Dean , this village , who lias been
connected with the Western Loan and In
vestment Company of Hastings , Nebraska ,

for tho past year , has withdrawn from that
company and organized a new company.
The new company will be known as the Ne
braska Loan and Uanking Company , and
will be located at McCook , a very thriving
town in Nebraska. The new company lias
a paid up capital of 5100,000. Mr. Shaw is
President of the new company , and our pop-
uiar townsman , C. A. Thompson , who is
Cashier of the Owego National Hank , and
Treasurer of this county , is Vice-President.
O. G. Webster , Esq , of Eastliampton , Mass. ,

A Pig Party.
Another new fad for social gatherings has
been discovered or invented. It contains as

much hilarity as those gatherings for the
study ) of anatomy called the donkey party.
The ; new thing is called a pig party. Every
body at a party is required to draw , witii a

pencil on white paper , two pigs. The draw
ing must be made without taking the pencil
off the paper. The second drawing must be
made with the eyes blindfolded , after which
the paper must be signed. The fun comes
when a comparison of the drawings takes
place , and the prize in competition is given

to the draughtsman of the best pig. The
person who makes the worst drawing is call-
g the pig.
