My little bey about eight months old , was taken with llux. After several days , we com menced giving Chamberlain's Colic , Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy according te directions. We were very uneasy about the child , and sent for a physician. I told hnn what we had been doing , and showed him the medicine. Ho examined it , and told us the best thing we could do , was to go ahead and give the remedy. We used about half of a small bottle , and cur ed the child , although the child was so slow , that he had no use of himself. We thought so much of your Itemedy that we would let no one else have it. I told my wife a few days ago that I must write , and tell you what your medicine had done. G. W. Luoar , Zion's Hill , Virginia. Sold by all druggists. The rain brought new life to tho vegetable kingdom and joy to the heart of the husdand- raan. So far there is a fine prospect for good crops. The exercises at the Luthern church , last Sunday , were quite a success. The children acted their part very well , the organ , that evening , seemed at times to be effected with a cold or perhaps the occasional discords which assailed the ear were part of the program. As a sample of industry , energy and love of labor , Peter Farley , a young boy 17 years old , has tended himself to 70 acres of as fine look ing corn as can be seen any where , and which he is about to lay by. This was done in con junction with his other work about tho farm , which was left in his care during the absence of his father and other brothers. It was remarked some time ago that the farmers ought to raise all that is consumed in our young city and by that put an end to tho necessity of having produce shipped in from other places. This is true , but the farmers who are trying to raise produce for the Mc Cook market get discouraged at the pitiful compensation they receive by the so-called price offered them for their hard toil in trying to raise a little produce and bettering the country by taming the soil. Tho time may not be far when the farmers will be expected to make a present of the garden and other produce they bring on the market. IIepokter.
