At the home of the bride's parents ,
to witness the consummation of long-
laid plans and cherished hopes , were
gathered a pleasant company of aboul
forty ; some married people , and quite a
number oi young people , all apparently

were the merriest of all the young

a well-filled table was shurn of its glory
by those who sat down to it. After sup
per followed innocent games and music
Wit and humor ran high , and often the
shouts and laughter filled the house.
Everybody enjoyed the hours as they
flew ; and. crossing the line of the old

"A sacred burden is the life ye bear ;
Look on it , lift it , bear it solemnly ;
Stand up and walk beneath it steadfastly.
Fail not for sorrow , falter not for sin.
But onward , upward , till the goal ye win. "
