The festival held at the church on Saturday , last , was was a complete suc cess , and a new organ will soon be plac ed in the church as the result. Rev. Wheeler of McCook , and Rev. Mann of Indianola , were present , and every one seemed to enjoy the occasion hugely. Indianolayoung folks showed their mag nanimous generosity by bringing their dinner and sitting in the church and eat ing it , after which a number of them amused themselves by raiding neighbor ing watermelon patches , and other gar den productions. The committee real ized about $1.00 from four stately car riages that came from our county-seat. If the young people who came to th festival from Indianola are a sample of the young people of the town , we must say we were not favorably impressed. This is just the man we need. Give him a "mill" and a position in "society" and we are made. August 18th , ISSo. COUXTY-SEAT. IN San Francisco the other day the old game of four kings and four aces was played upon a boy from the country by a professional. The boy was dealt wonderful hands several times and was winning nght along. Finally he found himself in possession of four kings and staked his entire pile. When the pro fessional showed up four aces , the boy said he was a robber and struck him over the head with the first weapon he could get hold of. The police took the same view of the case and held the man for robbery. ] f the law intervenes in this way , the time will come when four kings will be better than four aces after all. Journal.
