is the oldest of its cluss in the North
west , and the still more gratifying
fact that it is designated to fit its stu
dents for the active pursuits of busi
ness , what cannot he said of many old
institutions , which oftener unfit their
graduates for making an honorable
living , turning them rather into very
indifferent specimens of the dude or
into professional failures.
The weather is now exceedingly
fine , and the people are still coming
in large numbers to sec the Fair. A
prominent Iowa farmer who has been
here for a week , just said to mo that
he would not have missed seeing the
exhibits for five hundred dollars.
This is the general verdict.
