The wheat deal was the leading feature on 'Change , and a marked Improve ment iras noticeable in the volume and quali ty of business transacted. A buoyant tone characterized the market , and there seems to be a renewal of speculative activity and a partial recovery from recent apathy and in l-r difference. Lester is buying wheat , und the boys arc circulating stories of combinations formed in Now York for the purpose of push 9L- ing prices to 80c. To these facts and to stiff cables many ascribe the present strength , and declare that It is only a temporary bulge duo to manipulation , but there arc n great many others who believe the low point of wheat for the season has already been pcen and that from this tlrao on there will bo a gradual hnrdning of values. Corn is weak and although the premium on cash corn , which has -for some time existed , still continues , all fear of serious manipula tion seems to have been dissipated. Without I : doubt there is an immense amount of new corn being fed to hojrs and cattle this fall and the result of this will tell on the meat question further along and particularly explains the backwardness "of holders in sending the crop to market. Receipts of hogs are heavy and prices for the same weak and lower. There Is yet con siderable disparity , however , between the value of the product and the raw material , which causes packers to limit their hog buy- lug to the minimum capacity of their houses. CHICAGO. The wheat pit on 'change hae been packed each day of the past week with an eager crowd , and trade has been charac terized by more animation than for months. The bears , led by Not. Jones , Wright. Bliss and Davenport , and aided by big rt ceipt ; and growing stocks , had for a long time been en deavorlng to force the market to a lower level. After their most determined raids however , only fractional saps resulted , from which there was a quick rebound ns soon as the pressure was removed. Conservative traders who had watched this had gradually become convinced that hard , firm bottom could not be far off. Hence , the week opened with about everybody buving. In some in stances it was to cover "shorts , " but the ma jority was on invoi-tment account. Corn has presented a str.kinjr contrast to surounding markets. The recent excitement over corners and rumors of corners has been followed by a great calm. Tor tne Hrst simc this jear the visible supply showed an in crease and the probability that , although the grain coming forward is very poor , there will bo enough from this time on to keep the stufl in store piling up. makes speculators unwill ing to take hold while the great cheapness ol the distant futures makes them afraid to be "short. " Hogs are coming in irregularly. One daj there are so many at the yards that they can not be taken care of and the next receipts are not large enough to go around. The general opinion , however. Is that there are plenty in the country and the heavy corn crop is con rfc sidered sufficient guarantee that they will ar rive in good condition. , Eczema. Eczema is one of the ugliest and most troublesome of all blood diseases. It proceeds from humors in the blood which are somelimes very difficult to eradicate. .For five weary years Mr. J. D. Kodefer , of Greendale , Va. , suffered terribly from this disease. He writes : "Finding no relief in the many medi cines till I used Brown's Iron Bitters , I purchased three bottles ; from the use of which I have obtained almost entire re lief. I recommend it to every one in my neighborhood for any disorder of the blood and as a general tonic. In Germany they don't call it the honeymoon. They limit the period of the newly married couple's bliss , and call it the "Futterwoche , " literally the "spangled week. " The Germans are a far-seeing and intelligent people. During the past year over 3,000KK ( 'acres have been entered in southen Dakota and 160 postoffices established the daily newspapers have increasoc from forty-three to sixty-three , anc weeklies from 160 to 243 ; emigration is pouring in at a rapid rate ; a nation ii being born in a day ; and a short tim ( only can elapse before two or three large states will grow out of this lane of the Dakotas. The Rev. Stewart Sheldon , of Yank- ton , superintendent of homo missions for southern Dakota , a gentleman whc has livea in the territory for the pasl sixteen years , has traveled over il many times and is fully competent tc give a trustworthy opinion , is very en thusiastic over Dakota's prospects. "Look at the area of the state , " he ex claims , " 160,000 square miles : Enough to make over three New Englands , to make twenty-eight Counecticuts ; tc hold all the. inhabitants of the world with only sixteen and a fraction to the acre ; to put a belt around the globe sis miles wide. In a single year 1,50C miles of railroad are built , and on a single farm 1,200,000 bushels of wheat were raised ; its possibilities are almosl boundless. " "How about the planting oJ churches ? " "It keeps pace with the needs of the people. In my own denomination about liffcy organizations have been effected during the past year , and other religious bodies have probably done equally well. " "May I ask what originally brought you to this new country with its neces sary hardships ? " "First , the pursuit of health ; secondly , the great and glowing field of religious influence. I am on the road most of the time. As you know , it is not an easy task , and were it not for the cir cumstance which I believe saved my life , I should even now be compelled to forego the pleasure I iind in being instru mental in an humble way of doing some little good. " "Would you bo willing to publicly state your experience ? " "Yes , sir ! If you care to publish the matter in your paper , for the good of the public , I will give you a written statement. " And suiting the action to the word , the superintendent immedi ately wrote out the following : REV. D. B. COE. HON. SECRETARY. REV. M. M. BARROWS ' , I SEOBETAKIES. Rev. J. B. CLARK , } REV. A. II. To whom it may concern : This is to certify that I have used Warner's SAFE Cure and SAFE Pills more or less for a "year past and I find them to be most excellent remedies. They seem to do the work when other medicines fail. I have reason to be lieve that they have saved my life , and it gives me pleasure to commend them to others. For liver complaint , general debility and constipation , they have been a specific in my own. case , as they have been to others to whom I have recommended them. It gives me pleas ure to add my testimony to the many already given , in the hope that others afilicted as I have been , may experience like benefit. benefit.REV. REV. STEWART SHELDON.
