Honorable Sirs : We , the un lersigned , legal voters of Custer count } * , Nebraska , residing ii the territory hereinafter describ ed and sought to be detache < from Custer county , do respect ; ully petition your honorable jody for the erection of a new county out of the territory no\\ comprising Custer county , N > . - braska , and that the question be submitted to a vote of the pee ple at the next general election and that you call and order such election. The new county shall be known as Sheldon county and be bounded and described as fol lows : Commencing at the northeast corner of section 25 , township IS , range 17 , on the cast county line of said county , thence run ning west about 18 miles to the northwest corner of section 30 , township 17 , range 1 < J , Ihcnce south two miles to the southwest corner of section 31 , same town and range ; thence east on the township line about one-half mile to the northwest corner of section 6 , township Id , range 10 ; thence south about six miles to the i.orthwest corner of section 6 township 15 , range 19 , thence west about 6 miles to the north west corner section 6 , town 15 , range 20 , thence south about 18 miles to the county line and the southwest corner of section 31 , township 13 , range 20 , thence cast along the south line of said county about 24 miles to the southeast corner of Custcr coun ty , thence north and west along the east line of said county about 2d miles to the northeast corner of section 25 , township 17 , range 17 , and the place of beginning. We certify that we live on the land described opposite our names , -uid we ask that our names be counted in favor of said petition , and that in no event shall they be counted against it.
