The post card craze has assumed - ed sucli magnitude that an effort is contemplated by the powers to put a clamp on it aud by so doing prevent its overflow of the mails -as at present-to the sacrifice of more important mail matter. There is some hope-by the awakening- the postoffice department-that the fad will be checked , to a degree of decency , at least. Within a month congress will meet and then , on account of the recent financial flurry , many of the suposedly small-fry statesmen - . men wlll blossom as great financiers - ciers with plans and specifications \I \ to heal the monetary abrasure Ii now and for all time. ( Notwithstanding the fact that the division orators and the division - sion newspapers claimed that It. . I was an outrage for people living l' ' in the extreme corners of the t county to be compelled to travel 80 far to the connty scat. th se same pcople went to the polls on Tuesday and by their votes de- c1ar d they arc satisfied as it is and that they do not c.are to be burdened. with any more taxes. . than at present. Further , their votes go to show conclusively just what those opposed - posed to division have clalmed and that is that the upshot and backbone : of the division scheme i. by those towns which , expect to become county seats. lience I division is not in the interest of those who live farthest from Broken Bow-as the divisionists asserted-and the majorities in those precincts indicate the voters were not mislead by the division talkers and writers. Consider the vote cast in each corner precinct of the county. I Elk Cre township , in the extreme - treme southeast corner of the ! ; COUDty , cast only 9 votes in favor J of division and 161 against it. C. S. Crossley , who brought in f .the return from Elk Creek , said . .the tax payers there were not ' eceided by the schemes of the ' . Callaway ana Sargent real estate dealers and property owners into I voting to raise taxes on the farms in order to enhance the ! value of city property. Then in the extreme southwest . corner of the county is Waym township , which , in case of divi. ! sion , would , be 25 miles closer tc their county scat-assuming thai , Callaway would procure that plum. Out of a total of 80 vote cast fn W yne township ouly 2 : were for division. In the northwest corner Haye , township fully understood th ( situation - that divi ion heap I , up expense for the farmers fOJ , the benefit of town lot owners it cou ty seat towns-and out of 7 ( vet s cast , only ten were in favo ] i of division. , And to clinch the argument I and prove it beyond all questi01 of doubt look at Sargent town I abip in the northeast corner , it wh1ch is located the town of Sar . gcnt. It was conceded that I case division carried the city 0 Sargent would become the count' seat of the new county of Hig gins and Sargent township out 0 a total of 337 votes cast , only 3 were against division. I Let tax paying farmers in al parts of the county consider thesl facts carefully and when Ull question bobs up again , vet , against division unless they wan their taxes greatly' increased il , order to benefit the town lot OWl ] era in the. proposed new count . ; I&t towns. - . - " " " - - " ' , ' . . . . _ ' " . . . _ _ . . . _ . . . . . . The building is to be 60x60 on tye ground , two stories and , a basement , making the height of the structure about 44 feet. The walls of pressed brick laid in red mortar , window sills and 1 ledges rock-faced of Kettle River stone. All the basement windows to be of ribbed plate glass and the doors of the vestibules and main entrance of polished plate glass. All floors of the be3 yellow pine , oiled and deadened with the Keystone : air insulator. In the basement will be a primary room 22x22 , gymnasium , lavatory and boiler room. The first floor will contain threc class rooms 28x22 , besides the cntranc ( : , vestibules and cloalrooms making the projection and entrance of bout twenty-nine feet square. 'fhe entrance to the basement from the front will be made from the inside beneath the stairs to the second floor and on the second floor there will be two class rooms the same size as the ones on the first floor and one high school room 28x34 , in addition to these rooms there will be a large corridor , cloak room and a nicely arranged sUJeriutendent's ollice on the second floor above the main entrance.
