The Sixth and Seventh grades of the Brolen Bow schools have organized a football team and will make the hair fly before the season cnds. H. M. Pickens of Berwyn , who with his son has been visiting at his old home in York state for the past tbree wceks . , returned l10me today. W. W. Burton , of Merna , is in the city on a busincss missio'l today and declares that his town is rapidly grow1l1g to be the best in the county. \V. M. Vannice and wife returned - turned from a seven weels' visit in Iowa and Missouri. ' 1'hey visited their old home in Burlington - ton , Iowa , the firlt : : time in many years. Some people kick about delays in getting telephone calls. If they would think ior a moment that even with delay the servicc is worth the price as it usually beats the time of making personal trip-or writing a letter. Fred Baisch reached hem Tuesday from a visit of a month at Denver and vicinity "nd reports an exceedingly plcasant trip , wl1ile his looks indicate that bis stay in that high altitude - tude greatly bencfitte his health. Ed. Walton. who has been in Obio for the past seven years arrived in the city last Friday evt ! ing on a visit with relatives. He is a son of P. A. Walton and was for a number of years a resident - dent of this city where he bas a host of friends. Those of our citizens wbo vi - ited Omaha last week during the Ak-sar-ben carnival , report an unusua1'1y large crowd of visitors and numcrous pockets relieved of purses , yet withal a hilaI ous aggregation of humanity from all parts of the state. 'rhe cement walk between the Custer National bank and depot will be completed tbis week. The city authorities have certainly - tainly earne the plaudits of our people for baving pushed the building of cement and brick wal1s and crossings this year , and it is predicted that by tbe end of ncxt year every board walk in Broken Bow will have I given place to cemcnt or brick.
