Speeches were made by all the Grand oflicers and others. Fruit punch and cake were furnished during the evening in the reception room , by tbe ladies. The entire arrangement and ceremonies , from first to last , were carefully planned and pleasantly and impressively . exe- cuted. The occasion was one that will ever be remembered with pleasure by all who witnessed it. Hi. Firat Experlnce Under Fire. In the Army and Navy club , Washington , Gen. Chaffee told this story of Gen.
