Passenger Train Left the
Ralls and Went Into Ditch
near Ravenna , This Morn-
Ing. No One Killed , but
Many Seriously Injured

This Imorning at about 7.30
passenger train No.41 , two hours
late , and running at a high rate
of speed jumped the r ils neat' St ,
Michael , at a point about sevcn
miles east of Ravnna. 'l'hc mail ,
baggage and cxpresscars , and all
but one coach gowing into the
ditch and smashed to kindling
wood or overturned.
, 'l'he first report stated it to be
a head on collision and a number
of passengers k111ed , but a later
report says.no one killed althou h
quite a number are seriously 111-
jured and t1mt the wreck is so ,
complete it will not be possible
to clear the track before this
vening. .
Immediately on receipt of news
of the wreck a relief train with
physians , nurses and willing
workers went to thl' scene from
Ravenna and a wrecking inacbine
1nd' crew sent from Lincoln.
