'rhe snow , storm last week was
the occassi9n of a longer delay of
trains than was ever witncssed in
this vicinity before. No mail
was received hcre from the east
from Saturday morning , Feb , 11 ,
until ! \Ionday evening , Peh. 13th ,
It was about 3 o'clock Mouday
afternoon when 41 arrived at this
place with the acumulated mail
of Saturday and Sunda.y. 'i'he
train was detained fourteen
hours at Lincoln and cleven
hours four miles east of Ravena ,
where the engine was thrown off
the track by a suow drift. It
was the first storm of the season
where the snow had drifted.
There had been no wind with the
t1UmerOlH , former snows and although -
though the suow lay on thc
ground about a foot deep , rail and
road travel was not intcrfered
with to any g-rcat cxtcnt in thIs
