'l'he republican part ) ' has al-
wa's stood for the adequate protection -
tection to thc industrial interests
of the entirc county. It stands
for a policy thaj. is national aud
not sectional in its scope and
opcration.
Under the protective policy of
thc republican party the country
has developcd from bankruptcy ,
poverty and nursery to prosperity ,
plenty and happiness. Vote the
republican ticket and let the
country continue to prosper.
'l'here is danger this year of
republican voters remaiaing at
home on election day because of
O\'er confidence. The fceling
seems to be enera.1 that there is
no danger and the republican ,
ticket is safe. Even thc opposition -
tion frequently conceeds that
there. is no show for the demo-
cratie ticket this year. But
. whIle thb is the sentiment being
built up you will notice on the
other h nd that leaders in the
democratic and populist ranls
are quietly organizing their
forces. and scheming to succeed.
Their hope is that republicans
will $ tay at home on election day
and they will win the day.
Every republican should begin
now to plan his business so he
can be at the polls carlyon election -
tion day and see that his neighbor -
bor does not neglect to be there
and cast his vote. The great
danger of democratic success this
_ year is in the republicans staying
at home. Do not wait until your
horse is stolen before you lock
the barn door. The prosperity
of the country depcnds upon the
success of the republlcan party
this fall. Every \'ote is needed
. . to secure a republican county
board , republican legislature ,
republican congress , republican
state. officers and republican
president.

As a matter of compensation to
the pops , Eastham , dcmocrat
nomince for senator and Moore ,
democrat nominec' for county attorney -
torney were to withdraw iu favor
of the pops. Not being able to
get Holiday's consent , a committee -
mittee was appointed to wait on
Eddy to have him withdraw that
a fusion mig'ht be efTected with
Holiday and Mackey. At this
writing ( 'l'uesday UOOll ) ub

Jim Jones of Omahal appeared. .
on the scene today to help get :
the brcthern together. Suice
Holiday declines to withdraw : .
they hav concluded that half a.
loaf is better than no loaf and I
every energy will lJe bent to
secure the election of Mackey ,
who they feel sure will bc .for' . '
Bryan for the Uuited States
Senate.
.
'l'he fusion state committee is
bcnd1l1g e\'ery effort possible to
sccnre a majorit } ' in the legislature - :
ture with the hope of sending
Br'an (0 the United States
Senate. 'l'he ) ' profess to bc opposed -
posed to Parker and doubtless
that is true. But while they are
against Parker they hope : to win
a partial victor } ' for democracy -
racy b } ' the election of a democrat -
crat to the United States Senate
and a fusionistJor Governor. If
they succeed in electing a majority -
jority of the state legislature
they will elcct a man to the
Unitcd States Senate opposed to
President Roosevelt and the republican -
publican administration and who
evcr he may be he will be a
democrat \Vashiugton. . Should
they succeed in electing Berge
they would have the filling of all
the appointive offices of the state.
In the light of thcse facts it is
the duty of every republican .to
stand loyally .by his ticket. It
is not a question of the man as it'
is the question of good government -
ment and principle. Every voleI'
who believes in the courageous
and able administration , of President - .
dent Rooscvelt should not hesitate -
tate to cast his vote to sustain
him by voting the straight . republican -
publican ticket. .
