Octobel 13 , 1')04. - - - - No voter who realizes that a : vote for a pop or democrat for the legislature is a vote against sustaining President [ { ooseveH in his courageous administration will do othcr than vote thc straight republican ticket this year. John Scott of Westerville , has won the distinction of being a successful business man in his conservative methods in conducting - ing the affairs of his ( arm and thus has' establishcel his ability to con uct the business of the county board. - , 1\1. V. Mathews , candi ate for representative from the southwest - west part of the county , is a young man of fine business quali- tications , a man of intellectual ability , a genial companion and shoultl receive the united support of the republican party. Favorable reports come of the prospects of F. J. Drumm's prospects - pects of election for supervisor in the Fifth district. Mr. Drumm is regarded as one of the best citizens in Callaway and is well qualified to fill an important position - sition n the county board. A. P. Dobesh , the republican nominee for supervisor is one of the successful farmers of his district and is a man ofnore than ordinary ability. The voters of the Seventh District will make no mistake in electing him to represent them ( \n the county board. 'rhe pops who are making a fight on M. L. Fries for the state senate because he is in the lumber - ber business probably do not know that it is because he is not a member of the lumber trust of the state that the trusts havc threatened to anU1hilate him poli tica11y. Mr. Fries belongs to no trust He made a splendid record in the last legislature an < l should be returned with an increased - creased majority. The Fort Supply I epublica1J Oklahoma , is a recen t visitor a I I this office. Of the nominees 011 the republican ticket " 'e notice the l amc of our old townsman ! J. P. Gandy , candidate for re' presentative from the 19th dis. trict. Mr. Gandy is an ener' getic and untiring worker in re. publican ranks and capable 0 filling the office to which he as pires and in an able and efficien manner and should receive Ull loyal and enthusiastic support 0 his district. Since the Beacon takes excep Hens to G. II. Thorpe's reelection tion on the populist theory thane no Ulan is entitled to a thirl terpl , the Sarg'cnt Leader insist on the rule being applied to' ! ' J. Arthur , the pop nominnee 0 Douglas Grove , who is a thirl term candidate. No other cours . . : . ' # .crJ".rJ"JI'.rJ'.rJ'"J. ' ' : < F. W. HAYES , Jeweler and Optician West Side Square , Broken Bow , Nebraska. , r . . - - - . - - - - - - - - would bc consistant in thc pop party and the voters of the Pirst District are going to enforce the rule. But fortunatel ) ' for J\Ir. 'l'horpe the repuhlican party he- lie\'es it is public economy to continue in omce those who are faithful and true to their trusts as long as the best interests of the public dcmand it. - - . . . Will you vote for John Murray , a young man of energy alid honestj' , or for A. II. Copsey , a poli tical nonen tity-Beacon. See ! If our memory sen'es us right , John Murray is the fellow that run several hundred \'otes behiud his ticket for county superintendent a few ) 'ears ago. , I list HllncollllJe' . 'l'he great ( lin culty with the republican tax law of Nebraska , is that while it rcachcs the table and the chair al1l1 even the few bool < s of the common manl it carefully avoids a fair tax of the great railroads and corporations of the state.-Frelllont Herald , dem. 'l'hat is a sample ( ) f a thousand misrepresentations in the fusion papers. 'l'hose fusion papers know that the revenue law which the fusionists left on the statute books when the ) ' went out of power in 1900 taxed the railroads of Nebraska on an assessed valuation - ation of $26,422,733. 'l'hose fusion papers know that under republican control the railroads - roads of Nebraska are now taxed on an assessed valuati u of $46,287,764. 'l'hose fusion papers know that th republicans have increased the assessment of railroads 71 per cent and of other property only 54 per cen t. Yet those fusion papers are ' fu'l1 of just such buncombe as is quoted above from the , Fremont Hera1d.-Ex. )1. I . ConrCl'cnce Al'llolnhncutN. . - 'l'he Kearney l\I. E.
