for overseer in road district No.

for a championship contcst for
the Denver 'l'rophy , which is a
gold and silver cup , valued at
$250 givcn by the Denver Post to
be compete for by the cracl {
shots of 14 states. 'l'his trophy
is now held by Oscar Blevins of
Cumro. and on Thursday of Ii'air
week it will again be contested
for. 'l'he challenge was issuef
byVilliam Clayton of Kansas
City , but the contest will be opcn
to all amatuers of the 14 states
w 1ic t comprises the International -
al Association. A large number
of crack shots from : various parts
of Nebraska and other states will
be prescnt and enter this contest.
At a meeting of the Board of
Directors of he Broken Bow
Business & Normal Colleg-e last
Saturday e\'ening , l ev. L. L.
Epley of this city was elected
Superintendent and General
Manager. Mr. Epley brings to
the school a large experience in
school work and a broad influence
in the county and state. He will
.spend his time in the fIeld and in
general supervision of the work.
Prof. C. 1. Mohler of York , was
elected Principal and will hav
charge of the inside wo'rk of the
school. Prof. Mohler lta's had
several years expe 'ience as a
teacher and brings to the school
a large enthusiasm. We predict
for the coming year a successful
session. 'fhese men are well
qualified for their work and will
spare no pains to make the school
one of the best in its class in the
state. 'l'hej fall term will open
on September G. All old students -
dents will be welcomed to their
places and many new ones are I
expected. The school will carry
the same courses that it has
heretofore and the Normal course
has been strengthened. A new
announcement will be out in a
