E. J. BURIETT , Candidate for U. S. Senate.
'rhe above is a picture of Congressman E. . J. Bur kett , representative -
sentative of the First district. Mr. BurleU is a comparatively
young man. He has represented his district for three consecutive
terms in cong-ress with ability and highly satisfactory to his con-
stituents. He has , to his credit , a very dcaireable qualification and
that is he is not the candidate of any particular faction. He is t man
of the people , well qualified for the position to which he aspires.
His six years in congress especially qualifies him for United States
Senator. The republican county convention endorsed the recommendation -
mendation of state and county central committees favoring the
nomination of a candidate for U. S. Senator at the republican
state convention. A large number of the counties have endorsed
the plan. The convention of the Sixth Congressional district oth
endorse the plan and endorsed Mr. Burkett's candidacy. The only
. other announced candidate is W. E. Andr ws of the Fifth district.
