Ethel Ashbaugh taught 6chool for
Mattie Fodge four days last week. as
Mattie was quite sick , and confined to
bed for a part of the week. However sbe
was able to resume work this Monday
morning. Her school will close Friday
of this week.

John Kleeb is very sick with Lung
Fever. Dr. R. C. Talbot is tending him.

hoped he will get well aguin.
Sam Fngelsgjerd is to make 11 busimlss
trip to Montana the last of this week.
He may be away 5 or 6 weeks , during
which me his family will stay with Mr.
Ottun. He may also look for a new
place to move to while gone.

Pete Johnson has the sympathy of the

R. C. Tatbot arrived in time to save her

Sam Engelsgjerd arrived from Norway

his fatber and other relativcs the lust
seven months. Two of his nephews
came with him to this country. One of
thcm is staying with N. J. Ottun and the
other is to stay with Bert Engcsgjerd. ]
Oscar Engclsgjerd , S. K. Lee and
Prank Witmus marketed one carload
eacb of cattle in Omaha last week.
They struck a } Jeer market , whic. was
especially bad for Witmus as he hud
bought the cattle. he shipped , und came
out over $100 behind what he pl d for
thew.
Mrs. Kamilla Belie died March 5th nd
was buried on the 6th. She had sufIered
from chronic rheumatism the last ten
years an hUB been in bed for the last 8
years. Her children had faithfully attended -
tended her during her long sickness.
The last years she sufIered very much
and was badly crippled.

Mrs. Ida C. Gibbons , wife of
E. C. Gibbons of Wescott , died
March 15 , after an extended .ill-
ness. Mrs. Gibbons was the

was a woman highly respected
by all who knew her.

hogs , and to the hour of going
to press has not succeeded.
'l'he contending' parties are M.

'l'he hogs in controversy ware
sold by Painter , with ten other
bogs \Vilson & Palmer , some
tcn days ago. Furrow replevied
the three hogs , claiming they
had strayed from his premises

Friday the rights of property
was trie and the jury tailed to

was impanuelled and the case
tried a second time. A number
of witnesses testi fled in the case
and what is singular both parties
were able to prove the amc
