A meeting' of the deputy assessors - sessors of Custer Couuty , was cal1ed by Jlilcs JIaumont , county assessor , at the cuuty seat on the above date , for instrnctiousrelat- iug to their duties. James Chittick was elected secretary , The different items on the schedules were diRcnssed pro and con and decided to the satisfac- tioti of aU , by County Attorney Humphrey. Numben ; 3 , 4 , 13 , 15 and 85 on the schedule are the ouly ones from which Ilcduction may be allowed - lowed for bona 1ide debts. Moved and seconded to adjourn to 1 p. m. 1:30 : p. Ill. meeting came to order with Jules Haumont , county - ty assessor in chair. I 'l'he discussions were continued - ed on the different items clear through the schedule , and the opinion arrived at , that under the law , no classification of any kind of personal property is possible - sible , but that everything of value , must be listed at its fair cash val e , and assessed at 20 per cent of that \'alue. Real estate assessment was discussed : Classification of real estate was found to be undesirable and impracticable - practicable under the law and it was decided that every piece of property , should be considered by itself , and assessed according to its value. Deputies were instructed to use their best judgement and absolute - lute impartiality in assessing property.
