Waters , son of : Mr. and Mrs. G.
O. Waters of this vicinity , ar-
I rived here Monday night from
Dubuque , Iowa , where he died
Jast Thursday with 'l'yphoid
Pnumonia. At the age of eight
years' he located with his parents
In this county and grew to manhood -
hood among : us. He commenced
in business in this city as clerk
in the cloU1ing store of Heintz
Bros. , and succeeded to the
management of the store after
Joe Heatz moved to Alliance. In
1895 he moved to Dubuquc , Iowa ,
where he was in the empluy of
'rhe Knapp Stout Co. , Wholesale - I

sale Lumber Co. , until that company -
pany consolidated with a S1.
Louis firm. He then entered the
etnp'loy of the Electric Street
Rallway Co. , , vhich i owned by
bis 'former emplovers and after
. . 60 'days was prom tec1 to conductor -
tor , which 1'0.sition he has held
since. He was married December -
ber 26 , 1891 ! , to Miss Gertude
Russell. of this city , 'who bore
him a son , now cigh t years old.
The deceased was a good boy , an
exemplary young man , a christian -
an gentleman and was universally -
ly respected by all who knew him. '
His funeral services were con-
. duded in the M. E. ch.urch by
Rev. Trites , assisted by Rev. W.
, H. D. Homady , u. form r pastor ,

paper gives ad itional particulars -

'teemed in his new home.
Harry L. Watcrs , the wcll known conductor -
ductor of the Eighth street linc , died at
Finley hospital on Thursday cvening at
5:300'clobk : , Mr. Waters was born September -
tember 22 , 1872 , at Khoka , Missouri , and
came to Dubuquc nine years ago with the
Knapp , Stout Co. , with which firm he
remaincd for some years. For severnl
recent years he had been with the Union
Electric company. The death of 1\11' .
Waters came without U1uch forewarning ,
although he had been ill for several
weeks. A week ago he was removed to
Finley hospital , wherc death resulted last
cvcning. Thc'death of thc genial conductor -
ductor is the occasion of genuine regret
among thc 111any who kncw him , alwavs
a kindly smile , a pleasant word , he was
universally 1iked , and was , perhaps , the
most popular conductor in the city. Hiq
life was one of genial kindness and his
gospel was one of sunshine giving into
the hearts and lives of a11 wno came to
know him a gleam of his own good na-
ture. Honornble was his life an his 'ca.
reel' was above reproach. Everywhere
today were heard expressions of sympathy
and the cur of which he had been in
charge before his illness was draped in
black all day today. .Mr. Waters is survived -
vived by his wife aull one son , Leland , abe
bo } ' of nine years , also his parents , Mr.
an Mrs. George Waters of .Broken Bow.
Nebraska , also five brother , Walter of
Columbus , Neb. , Charles of Eddyvilte ,
Neb. , Clark of Ainsworth. 'Neb. , Herbert
of Chicago , and Robert of Broken Bow ,
also by his sister , Miss Mary of Broken

Mr. Waters was a , member of Key City
Court , I. O. F. The funeral services will
be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 :
o'clock from the family residencc , 185
Eagle Point avcnue. The body will be
shipped to Broken Bow for burial.
