'l'he camp meeting , which , is now in progress at this place , is not drawing the crowds it did last year , owing to the fact that e\'er'body is too bus ) ' taking care of theIr mammoth crops. Nevertheless - theless those who are able to attend - tend are enjoying the meetings. August Blixt , a young man residing - siding on 'l'allin Table , met with a serious accident last Saturday , which will lay him up for some t Hne to come. Himself and father recentl.r purchased a new steam thresher with all the late improvements , and while working - ing with same the selfband-cutt- ing aparatus caught him on the arm cutting a cash several inches long and to the bone. Dr. Mathews patched the unfortunate - ate YOl1l1g man up , and it is thought he will g-et along all , right. i Chris Christensen , a twelve- year-old lad , resi.lling in Rye Vallev west of tIus place , was found' dead by his mother last Saturday aftetnoon. : The boy was herding cattle for August Jaeger , and was in the habit of playing in the sand while the cattle were grazing , making small caves , etc. It appears that on the fatal day he had burrowed into the bank for some distance , when the moist dirt from above caved in on him , either crushing him or smothering h m. When he failed to return home. to dinner - ner , as was his custom , his inother became alarmed , and after the other boys had eaten their dinner , she started out in search of the missing lad. Two dogs were with him , and during the a.fternoon Olle of the dogs came to the boy's 'mother and by following him he led her to the other dog , where she found her boy.dead. When found only his feet were protruding from , the hole , while the bal- lance of the body was covered with the dirt. She dug in till she learned that lif : was extinct , when she became exhausted and had to return for assistance. The case is made all the more sad from the fact that .only a few J ars ago his father met accidental - cidental death-by his team running - ning away with binder , throwing - ing him i'n front of the sickle and running one of the guards into his head. Funeral services were held from the. home. on Sunday - day afternoon , conducted by Rev. Buckley , and the remains laid to rest in the Kingsbury cemetery beside his father. ftlltI ! 1'l'lIlly AlIl'u.
