Rev. Swartz conducted Children
Day at Wesley Chapel last Sunday -
day , it was the greatest affair
ever seen on any lilee occasion in
that locality. Rev. Shwartz is
not only a good Sunday preacher
II but is also a good every day Inan
to have in a community , busy
and progressive aitd while ever
attentivc to his divine calling , is
not ' 50 over good as to neglect the
social and earthly requirements
of us poor sinners below.
Appropos to the location of
the Normal school at Broken Bow
we art : informed that a 'Wiscon-
sin .firm promises to put in a
Creamery and cheese factory
plant in Broken Bow that will
cost $20.000 within ninety days
after it lS decided to locate the
. school in Broken Bow. A friend
informs us that when the Normal
School of Plattsville , Wisconsin ,
, \'as located there some thirty
five years ago that land in Grant
county increased five dollars an
acre in value within thirty days
after the location was established.
'We noticed in the last "Re-
publican" the candidacy of our
old llcig-hbor , C. T. each for
assessor. 'We have neighbored
in close acquaintance with Mr.
Lcach for over twenty years and
there is not a more consciencious
'business man in Custer county
than he. He is a man with an
eye single to his duty , and neither -
er fear nor favor will swerve him
from a line of action that he believes -
lieves to be right. If nominated
there would not be three votes
cast against him in Westerville
ow ship. In fact we think he
IS too good a man to get the
nomination. ' We think the politicians -
ticians and office seekers will
combine against him and leave .
him out of the race. All we can say
is that they will never turn down
a bettcr man for the position of
assessor than C. T. Leach.
