'fhe citizens of the 'l'hird ward held a meeting in the officc of Judge Armour Monday night for the purpose of effecting an organization with the object of improving that part of the city. 'rhe meeting was called to order by A. R. Humphrev and on motion - tion C. S. Martin. was elected temporary chairman and E. E. Wimmer , secretary. Remarks were made by Humphrey , Martin and Dr. Day on the subject of improvement. Judge Armour suggested that an organization . be effected by electing a presi- I 'dent , vice-president , and secretary - tary and that the ladies be asked to lend their co-operation in the matter of improvement of that portion of the city. On motion thc meeting proceeded to elcet officers by ballut. C. S. Martin was clected president and E. E. Wimmer , Secretary.
