Callaway is near the center of the District , and offers mat1y attractions , among which may be mentioned a fine swimming pool of clear water , fifteen feet or more in depth. The campground - ground is well shaded and will be well fitted up for comfort and convenience. The Alumni Banqnct. - - The Alumni of the Broken Dow High School held their annual banquet at the Odd Fellows Hall 011 the evening of June 11. The attendance was good , there being about fifty present. This year a senior class of 5 , three boys and two girls , were ushered 111toAlumni membership. 'l'he plan of jnitiation was new novel and interesting. A squad commanded by Arthur Myers and compo.sed of three University students , dressed in cadet suits and armed with spears and three girls in spec1acular : costumes , with swords , composed the initiation - itiation force. They conducted the blindfolded candidates about the room one at a time to where two sCribes , a counsellor and king were stationed. These officials administered the usual oaths , propounded the puz ji g questions - tions and gave the new members tIle customary sound advice. After the initiatIon a short well rendered program was given. The Allumni then repaired in , . a body to the Grand Cef\tral. Hotel where a luxuriant spread awaited them.
