ATTRACTIONS AT THE FAIR ,
THE BIG BALbOON
What we have said about the balloon ascension in the papers nnd
on the bij { posters is all trim and the half hats not been told. This
will positive ! } ' be the best attraction f the kind ever seen in the
state. Prof. "Ward has few equals and no superiors as an aer
onaut. In making1 the abCent he will do some maVvellous av l
- work.lc \ will take with him -
daringtraprce dog-s , pig and chick
ens and let them down in small parachutes , and he positively will
not cut loose with his own parachute until he reaches the clouds.
The balloon will be inflated during the afternoon and when it is
ready to go up the race prog-ram will be temporarily suspended to
give everyone a grand view of the ascension. This attraction will
take place on Thursday and Friday.
THE flUTOmOBIhE RRCE.
This is positively the newest attractioni in the west and we
believe it is the first automibile race in the state. The best part
part of it is that we do not have to go out of Ouster county for this
attraction. The exhibition and race will be between the automo
biles owned by Dr. Pennington and Mrs. F. II. Young1 , both of
this count ) ' . The automobiles are of different makes and arc
brand new and just from the factory. They .are powerful vehicles ,
havingahigh speed and both arc to be manned by automobile
experts. This alone will be wortli your ticket to the fair.
premiums.
If you havn't already got a list , get one at once and look over the
magnificent offers the lair makes this year. There are jtiBt 1,200
premiums offered , ranging in amounts from twenty-five cents to
twenty dollars. Every person in Ouster county has something' in
this list that they should exhibit.
SPORTS.
The program of races on this sheet shows 'for itself that the
arrangement of the $1,000 put in horse , bicycle and amusement
contest purses make the best program .of sports ever announced.
Thursday and Friday are always the big1 days of the fair and on
those days the program is crowded with big events. Don't come
just for one clay , get a family ticket and take in the whole thing1.
Vf liOO ! OVEH THE BIG PP.OGP.AJVI
And then ask yourself if you have ever g-ot more for your money
Single admission 25 cents. "Family tickets $1.50 , good for the Fair.
Children under 10 years free. Teams and saddle horses free.
THE STREET FAI EVEP.V f4lGHT.
This is a new departure asd it will be a hummer. It
will be touched off just after you have had your supper , so g-ct a
hustle on yourself and prepare for a time. The bawd will skirt the
program with a concert in the square. The open .air shows thivt
cost you nothing- will entertain you. The merry-go-round will start
up with that old familiar tune. The bowery dance will be going1
in full blast. The calathumpian parade will be on. The balloon
will go up amid fireworks and all this will happen in the middle ef
the streets. This is why you should come prepared to sta y throve
days and three nights.
CONCESSIONS.
The prospects of a tremendous cr wd have brought so
many inquires regarding stand rights thitt we deem it necessary
Jo : say a word about the various concessions. Refreshment stands
"during the fair ( on the grounds only ) \rill be $15.00. Cane racks ,
baby racks , striking machines , bell boards , phonographs , target
shooting- and all rights of this class , cither on fair grounds r up
town , will be $5.00 each during the fair. Rights OH games in violation
lation to the laws can not be sold. For tent shows , bowery tUmee ,
merry-go-round , etc. , write to the secretary. Concessions fr fly ;
county fair and street fair will be sold separately. Tefcits anel
torches rented if application is made before September
IT COSTS.
Some figures worth remembering : ,
$1,000 in live stock , farm products , etc.
$1,000 in horse races , bicycle races and amusement'contests.
$500 in attractions , bands , parades and expenses.
$200 for the ladies.
$75 for the school children.
§ 25 for the babies.
§ 200 in other additional premiums.
$3,000 will be used in making the 1901 fair the biggest and best
county fair in the state.
0 " All Premiums will be Awarded on Friday.
