Island Monday afternoon , where he
had gone to attend the funeral of
his brother-in-law , Mr. Blake How
ard , who died very suddenly last Fri
day. Mr. Howard was 70 years of
age , and for nearly 80 years wa
master mechanic of the U. P. shops
at Grand Island , a position ho held
till the time of his death.
His House Was Burglarized.

that upon arriving there In found
that his residono in that city , which
ho left looked up while his family
nnd himself were to remain in Gor
ing , had been entered by burglar *
and a largo quantity of furniture
and effects wore missing. Ho maybe
bo able lo recover some of the
goods , but time lost in tracing
them majo it impossible to get
back. We hope ho can run down
the guilty parties and find his prop
