Convention was called to order
2 o'clock. The committee on per
manent organization reported iu
favor of Hon. F. M. Cnrrio for per
mauont chairman and that the tem
porary secretaries bo retained.
Report adopted.
Senator Currie on being intro
duced as permanent chairman , of the
convention was called upon for
speech. Ho responded in an able
addroas , reviewing the predictions
of Bryan iu 1800 , in the event of
MoKtnlpy'a election , aud s ho wen
the complete failure of his calamitous
obligations , by showing in the way
of contrast that money was plenty ,
the circulation has increased , farm
products and stock demanding pro
fitable prices , labor employed and
money nooning proutauio invest
ment. It was a tolling speech aud
met with frequent applause.
The secretary reported that cre
dentials had boon handed in from
every precinct in the county making
100 delegates , that the following
named delegates were entitled to
seats in the convention , viz.

On icotiou of U. L , Guttersou the
rules were suspended and J. A.
Armour , the prccont incumbent was
nominated for county judge by
acclamation. 'I ho judge was called
out and in accepting the nomination
ho thanked the convention for the
honor conferee ! and the voters of the
county for their liberal support two
years ago. lie assured the con
volition if elected his first duty
would bo to aorvo the people of
( < ustor county , irrespective of their
parly affiliations to the best of his
ability.

There were four ballots taken on
clerk , resulting in iho nomination of
James Chittick of Wayuo township.

The name of Lieut. H. F. Kennedy
was placed iu nomination for clerk
of the district court. Thorn being
no other candidate named Kennedy
was nominated by acclamation.
COUNTY BUPKU1NTKNUBNT.
The names of Prof J. M. Scott ,
J. 13. Taggart , and ( J. L. Shaver were
placed in nomination for county
superintendent , Prof. Scott's oundi.

for treasurer , but when half the

the second ballot resulting in the
choice of Capt. V. 0. Tulbot. On
motion of Charlie Penn , the nomi
nation was made unanimous by no *

The vote for county surveyor re

VanAntworp , ot Lodi.
On the ballot for coroner , the names
of Dr. Robinson , of Mason ( Jity ;
Dr. Hanna , of Anwloy ; and Dr.
