Lusk, Wyo., Wednesday and will

Dow Sweeney, nephew of
Sheriff Sweeney, arrived Monday
morning and wil visit his uncle

homo is at Galesburg, 111., and
is on his return from a western

S. II. Wright of Canton has
bought a half interest in G . V.
Duncan's grocery store at Alli
ance. Mr. Wright is a straight
forward gentleman and will bo a
great assistance to Mr. Duncan
whoso health has been quite
poorly for somo time.
Died, on Friday, May 20, 1808,
Ferdinand Nikout, aged Q?t years,
at his homo in Lawn precinct.
Deceased has not enjoyed good
health for several years but he
was always able to gee around
and appeared to Iks in usual
hoalth a few hours before his'
death. Ho loaves a wife, two
daughters and throe sons to
mourn his loss. The funeral
took place on Monday, jntermont

being conducted by Rev. Father
Miieiiicli. The f unoral was prob
ably as large as any over held in
thi county, about fifty teams be
ing in the procession. The bo

Tuesday and reported that on
Monday Victor Johnson tired
three shots from a Winchester
rifle at him at close range. Mr.
Fierce says that ho heard the
bullets whiz past him and one

that Johnson held up Clayton
Ileed for three hours, the same
day. Johnson has been herding
sheep for II. Hall for setup time.
He has been acting strange lately
