Omtuahy Miss Lillie, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. John eon of this place, died at her par ents home, Juno 9th of conation of tho liver. She was 21 years, 7 months and 9 days old; was born in Cass county this state and has resided here for tho last 7 years. Sho was a membor of the U. P. church and also of tho Y. P. 0. U. Her faith was is Jesus Christ her "saviour, and sho died in the hope of a glorious resurrection. Her lust word on earth was "Home" and to judge by her gestures she meant to say, she was going homo. The funeral services were held at her parents home, Bev. W. J.Gol den of Alliance ofliciating and the remains wero intored in Green wood cemetery near Alliance. The entire community extend their heartfelt sympathy to tho grief stricken family in their sad be reavement. Upon examination of the asses sor's returns for Liberty precinct it appears to tho board that tho total assessed valuation of that precinct is too low as compared to other precincts; it is huroby ordered that a proportionate in crease be made in tho assessed valuation of each piece of laud subject to assessment, making tho total assessed valuation ol real cstato of that precinct 819,49.i instead of S0,C3o as re turned by the assessor. Complaint was made by Joseph Civish, of Lawn precinct, that through a misunderstanding he had given in his personal proper ty at full valuation, after consid eration tho board ordored his pergonal assessment reduced from $79 1 to 8255. All complaints having boon acted upon and the board having complied with the law in that they had remained in sossiou not less than three days, they pro ceeded to make the levy of taxes for the year lb90, as follows, to-wit: County general fund, nine (9) mills on each dollar assessed val uation. County bridge fund, two and one-half (2$) mills on each dollar assessed valuation. County school fund, one-fourth of one mill, except on property in school district No. G. Total levy for all purposes, eleven and three-fourths mills. The total assessed valuation of the county, as corrected, includ ing amount roturuod by the stato auditor, was found to be $709, 229.58.
